This is a rural carrier Jeep...plenty of receipts for preventative maintenance. It has 176 kilometers or roughly 109,000 miles. It has the workhorse reliable 4.0L I-6 engine. It was purchased for a backup vehicle. Just replaced valve cover gasket, oil filter adapter, idle oxygen sensor, crankcase position sensor, fresh oil change, air conditioning recharged and tested...(runs super cool now) and brakes all checked out. It has a radiator cooling fan installed Sept of 2013. New water pump, thermo and serpentine belt approx 20,000 miles ago. Front transfer case replaced approx 1800 miles ago. Good TOYO 6-ply tires on the ground. The body is amazingly straight for a mail rig. The interior has some bumps and bruises typical for a Jeep they just make them cheaper than the rest of the vehicle. The headliner, as typical, is rough and the console lid is broken at least without the lid it gives you a place for your coffee :) I have found the console for $40 + or- from salvage yards so easy fix. Chrysler uses Super Bowl spots to honor troops, farmers
Sun, 03 Feb 2013How do you follow up such revered and successful ads as Chrysler's last two Super Bowl commercials? Imported from Detroit and Halftime in America should be given credit for giving the automaker's public perception a complete overhaul after its rescue from the brink with taxpayer money. What next, then?
We just found out during Super Bowl XLVII. This year Chrysler went with two commercials, one for Jeep and the other Ram. The two-minute-long Jeep commercial, called Whole Again, is narrated by Oprah Winfrey and presented as an open letter to the service men and women of America, simply expressing admiration for what they do - poignant message coming from a company whose history is so entwined with that of the military's.
The Ram commercial, called Farmer, honors the agricultural backbone of this country. Its soundtrack is a speech entitled "So God Made a Farmer" given by the famous radio broadcaster Paul Harvey, which plays over a slideshow of original photography commissioned by Ram. The images, of course, focus on farming and the people who do it for a living, and there's a few Ram trucks in there, as well.
Jeep brings quartet of concepts to Beijing to show its Chinese style
Mon, 21 Apr 2014Jeep is making a big play for the Chinese crossover market at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show. It has a quartet styling concepts for the Renegade, Cherokee and Wrangler that are inspired by Chinese culture at the show.
Among them is the newest member of the Jeep lineup - the Renegade. Its Zi You Xia concept (pictured above) comes from the Mandarin for "rebel," and it's painted in Warm Chocolate Gray with Dark Anodized Bronze trim, including the 20-inch wheels. The roof, grille surround, and mirror caps are done in a complimentary Dark Charcoal color as an accent. The interior is a mix of dark brown leather and Anodized Copper trim. This is one swanky compact crossover.
The Cherokee Sageland and Urbane concepts are meant to show to different sides of Chinese style. With inspiration from the Shangri-La Region, the Sageland has Ivory Pearl tri-coat paint with bronze trim on the outside, and the interior is covered in Gray Nappa leather with red and blue stitching. The Urbane's look comes from the nightlife in the country's cities. The exterior is a color called Maximum Steel with Hyper Black trim. Inside, it combines Piano Black trim with dark red leather seats.
Freak accident during Jeep demonstration turns fatal
Mon, 20 May 2013A 20-year-old woman was killed in Edmonton, Canada on Satuday, reports CTV News, in a freak accident resulting from a rollover during a Jeep demonstration. As part of a fundraising enthusiast event called "Jeeps Go Topless," the driver of one Jeep Wrangler drove up and onto the top of the tire of another.
CTV reports that the owner of the topmost Jeep then switched the vehicle off, posed for pictures and then dismounted from his vehicle. His movement off of the Jeep apparently caused it to tip over, crushing a woman who was on top of an adjacent vehicle. Edmonton police are currently investigating more fully what caused the parking lot accident to occur. Scroll below to watch the CTV News video report about this tragic incident.
