You are bidding on a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Country XJ. This car has been in my wife's family since 2003 when her dad first had it. My wife then had it for a few years and now her sister has it. She has just finished school though and is now getting a smaller car for her daily commute.
The car has been used daily since they owned it, and my father in law is only the 2nd named person on the vehicle title, which I have with the car. Apart from the usual wear and tear - sun faded paintwork, the odd scuff and scratch here and there, the car is in very good condition bearing in mind its nearly 20 years old. The leather inside looks superb, it runs very well and has been very reliable. There has been some work carried out on the car recently, including; March 2014 - New fuel pump and catalytic converter ($875) June 2013 - Oil service, new battery, replacement rear wheel cylinders, reseal of oil filter housing, brake fluid change ($1180) I have the receipts here for the above work. Also, today the car just PASSED its smog test with no problems at all. The results were really low in terms of emissions and I have the full report here also. Finally, the car was just given a really great detailing inside and out today. For a 1996 car, it looks really good inside and out and is a very solid & dependable car. Chrysler delays 2014 Jeep Cherokee media launch
Tue, 30 Jul 2013Chrysler is making the unusual move of delaying the first media drives of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, which were slated to start next week in Seattle. And while something like this is a rare occurrence, and one that most of the Autoblog staff can't recall happening this publicly or so close to the event itself, it won't effect the actual on-sale date of the new Cherokee, which is set to hit showrooms in September.
"Over the last couple of weeks during final quality and durability testing, we have discovered the opportunity to further improve powertrain calibration," Chrysler told Automotive News. This marks the second notable delay in the Cherokee's short life, after production was delayed for roughly a month earlier this summer.
Still, we'd rather Chrysler make sure the Cherokee is ready for primetime before flying media in from around the country. It shows a willingness to get things right the first time, rather than offering media drives and then tweaking the car after the fact.
Ward's releases 10 Best Interiors list for 2014

Ward's 10 Best Interiors being one of them.
As the name might imply, the magazine focuses on the very best interior treatments in the US market. Whereas some awards purposely exclude extreme, high-dollar offerings, Ward's considers them - the only requirement is that a vehicle has a "new or significantly redesigned interior."
