I HAVE UP FOR AUCTION A VERY NICE, CLEAN, 1972 JEEP COMMANDO WITH REMOVABLE ROOF. IT HAS A IT'S ORIGINAL 258 CUBIC INCH STRAIGHT SIX MOTOR. IT HAS MINIMAL RUST FOR THIS TYPE OF JEEP. THE BODY IS VERY STRAIGHT WITH JUST A COUPLE MINOR DINGS. IT HAS 115,854 ORIGINAL MILES, IT APPEARS TO BE ORIGINAL PAINT AND INTERIOR WITH THE SEATS POSSIBLY HAVE BEEN RE UPHOLSTERED IN BLACK AT ONE TIME. IT IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION, EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE WORKING AS IT SHOULD EXCEPT THE HORN. EVEN THE RADIO, HEATER AND FAN SPEED MOTOR ARE WORKING. IT RUNS VERY WELL AND STARTS RIGHT UP. THE BATTERY IS NEW. IT DOES NEED A TAIL PIPE, ONE HUB CAP IS MISSING AND ONE WIPER ARM IS BROKEN. THE JEEP WAS PREVIOUSLY OWNED BY A CHURCH FOR SOMETIME, THEY ONLY USED IT TO PLOW THE PARKING LOT. 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4X4
Wed, 13 Feb 2013Ice skates are spectacular on frozen water, yet they are dreadful everyday footwear. I consider the Jeep Wrangler equally as specialized.
I recently spent a week with a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4X4. Introduced for the 2007 model year, the Wrangler Unlimited is a standard JK two-door with 20.6 inches added to its wheelbase and two additional doors bolted to its passenger compartment. While Jeep offers the Unlimited in seven different trim levels, the desirable Rubicon is the most capable when the pavement ends, as it boasts a slew of hardcore off-road tools including front and rear electronic locking differentials and a front sway bar that can be disengaged at the touch of a button for improved articulation. My I-Look-Like-A-Traffic-Cone test model started with a base price of $34,095 (plus $995 destination). Options including a five-speed automatic transmission, Uconnect, tow package and a premium soft top, drove the bottom line up to $38,630.

2014 Jeep Cherokee facing production delay
Fri, 17 May 2013Jeep's bold-faced new direction spearheaded by the 2014 Cherokee is facing some teething issues. According to a report by the Detroit Free Press, production start-up of the controversial new utility vehicle at its Toledo North facility is running about a month behind schedule "due to a wide range of issues." That's according to Mark Chernoby, senior vice president of engineering at Chrysler.
Chernoby maintains that the issues being encountered aren't unusual for the launch of a new vehicle - particularly one with a new powertrain - and he downplayed the delay, telling Jeep dealers that they "will have ample inventory of the midsize SUV by fall." Among the kinks being worked out? Calibrating the Cherokee's cutting-edge ZF nine-speed automatic transmission and refining assembly line tasks to make the process more efficient.
Chrysler expects to start building retail-ready versions of the Cherokee around mid-June, with official sales slated to start in September.
Watch this Jeep Willys return to its birthplace after 70 years
Sun, 23 Jun 2013Earlier this month, a very significant Jeep was celebrated at the Toledo North Assembly plant. No, it wasn't the upcoming reincarnation of the Jeep Cherokee, but instead it was a 1943 Willys MB that visited the Toledo grounds where it had been built exactly 70 years ago to the day.
Of course, the actual building where the MBs rolled off the assembly line before heading to Europe for World War II no longer exists, but that didn't stop Italian owner Vittorio Argento from having the vehicle shipped to the US to make its trek back to its birth place. According to Chrysler, Argento's MB is still 95-percent original and it drove 1,000 miles from New Jersey to Toledo.
The whole adventure was chronicled on a blog aptly named A Jeep Comes Home. Scroll down for a brief video from Chrysler and for some photos of the Toledo visit and be sure to read more at Argento's blog.
