Selling my 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4. Currently has 164k miles. Has power seat, cruise, tilt wheel, AM/FM/CD/Cassette Stereo. 4x4 is the lever style on the floor and works great. Tires are good. Also has a towing package installed. The windshield has a small crack on the driver side. The passenger side fog light is broken. Sometimes (not very often) while driving the airbag light will come on. It will sometimes go out in a few minutes or stay on until the jeep is shut off then it will go out. It happened about 4 times in the last 5 months. Also while driving with the headlights on, the instrument panel lights will sometime flicker. I get it to stop if I tap on the slider for the dimmer adjustment. Those are really the only 2 problems with it. It also has a little rust on the bottom right by the front of the passenger door. It has had regular maintenance and does not use or leak any fluids. I'm Just selling it cause I got a truck. I did have a loan for it, but recently paid it off so I should be getting the clear title very soon. Please ask with any questions or if you would like more pics. There are three sentences that, for this reviewer, define what needs to be conveyed about the 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The first: it is very good.
Jeep spent 27 years building the Cherokee and its brand, from 1974 to 2001. Twelve years ago, the Cherokee nameplate rolled away into the distant hills and retirement, at least here in the NAFTA colonies, and it was replaced by a loaded word we knew as "Liberty."
Jeep Cherokee joins Altitude trim line
Wed, 22 Jan 2014Jeep fans spoke up last year by naming the Altitude trim level, and the automaker rewarded them with an assortment of cool Jeeps sporting a sinister, blacked-out appearance. Joining the ranks of Jeep models offering an Altitude trim level is the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, and this might be the best looking of the new Cherokees - including the Trailhawk.
Like the previous versions of this model, the 2014 Cherokee Altitude adds black wheels and exterior trim and molding, and it's only offered in four colors: black, silver, white and granite (shown above). You definitely have to love the look of the black accents since the Altitude raises the Cherokee's price by $2,000 to a starting MSRP of $24,995 (not including destination). Jeep says that the 2014 Cherokee Altitude is a limited-edition model, but there is no mention of any specific production figures.
Joining the new Cherokee Altitude are the updated versions of the Grand Cherokee Altitude and Wrangler Altitude with similar limited color combinations and pricier MSRPs starting at $35,290 and $31,595, respectively. These three new Altitude models will go on sale this spring joining the Compass Altitude and Patriot Altitude, which are on sale now. Consumer Reports digs Mazda3, disses Jeep Cherokee
Tue, 11 Feb 2014Consumer Reports has just rendered its verdict on two of the more important cars to launch this year - the Mazda3 and the Jeep Cherokee. Considering the value a "Recommended" rating carries with the public and the viciously competitive markets these two cars compete in, Consumer Reports' view could have some impact on their initial success.
For Mazda, that's a good thing. CR spoke quite highly of the Zoom-Zoom brand's compact sedan and hatch, testing both models, and citing the excellent fuel economy and snickety-snack manual shifter as high points. Downsides to the 3 included a ride that is agile but "nervous," a bit too much noise and a cramped back seat. Still, the 3 was good enough to earn its place in the ranks of the "Recommended."
The Jeep didn't fare quite so well, with CR calling the polarizing CUV "half-baked." Although both engines were tested, the magazine called the 2.4-liter four-pot underpowered and its nine-speed automatic unrefined and unresponsive. That's particularly damning, considering the 9AT's role in future Chrysler products, including the extremely important 200. Overall, the Cherokee missed out on the coveted "Recommended" rating.
