2005 JEEP Liberty Limited CRD 2.8 Diesel

For sale is a well cared for 2005 Liberty Diesel. It has a 2" lift kit with 245/75/16 tires. Not an over the top lift but just enough to give it the good ground clearance for rough country or lease roads. Yet, the lift is minimal enough to maintain a factory ride. It has 6 disc satellite radio (the satellite radio had been fully activated as long as I've owned it, I've never had to pay for radio service and cannot guarantee how long it will stay activated). It has 4 brand new matching BFG all terrain tires with currently less than 1,000 miles on them. The spare matches and is in like condition. It has leather interior with all the options available at the time aside from heated seats. It does have a block heater, husky cargo liner and front floor mats, tinted windows, 5 custom KMC matching black rims with active TPMS. The vehicle is used, it's very clean but still used and shows expected signs of such. It does show some minor nicks or stains of the interior and some rock chips on the front bumper and hood (Some spots in the pictures are bugs or dirt which will wash off, like under the passenger side turn signal, my apologies), . I do have a brand new bug/ rock shield but have not installed it. Even with the lift and larger tires (approx. 31" tires) the Jeep still gets 20-24mpg around town and 28-30mpg - Impressive!

Note: I work out of state and used this vehicle primarily traveling over the road for work. The vehicle currently has 151,300 miles but it will have a few more. I will be driving it back to the Canton, Texas area from Marietta, Ohio this Friday (April 18th). Up until last week when I was provided a company vehicle, I used this vehicle quiet a bit. I depended on it and utilized my mileage per diem to maintain the vehicle in the best possible condition. Over the last several months / weeks I have managed to spend quiet a bit (over $5,000) on preventive maintenance as I was planning to continue using it. Below is a list of the recent repairs/service within last 5 months:

New upper and lower ball joints and control arms
Injector service and ring replacement
New gel cell battery
Four new BFG 10ply all terrain tires (raised white letters turned in) with currently less than 1000 miles
New front 4wd axels
New Front drive shaft (fabricated to eliminate the commonly faulty issues with the factory shaft ends)
New power steering pump and hoses
New water pump
New transmission cooler unit and hoses

I know these diesel liberty's are rare but there are a few of them out there to choose from. However, it may not be likely that these types of service have yet been performed, and they can be rather costly. This vehicle has been very dependable, however, I cannot guarantee or warranty this vehicle beyond the time of purchase, but I can provide evidence of the service records. I can guarantee it to be in good running condition at time of purchase.

Known issues:

The plastic front bumper was damaged at some point with the previous owner and repainted. It matches but does show some minor chipping or flaking (Some spots in the pictures are bugs or dirt which will wash off, like under the passenger side turn signal, my apologies). I could not find any evidence of body work to any of the sheet metal.
The drain plug on the aluminum oil pan was stripped when I let a shop change my oil a couple of times back. The replacement oil pan is rather costly. I currently use an aftermarket interference fit plug with no leaks or problems. A more permanent fix would be to drill it out with a 41/64" bit and tap it with a 18mm-1.5 right hand thread. Then install a Fumoto F-104 quarter turn drain valve. This would still be protected by the skid plate and you'd never again be at risk of stripping the aluminum. This would cost less than $60 for the bit, tap, and valve. I can perform this for an additional charge or you can continue using the interference fit plug and being careful not to over tighten.

2014 Jeep Cherokee: June 2014

I got a text message from Editor-In-Chief Sharon Carty one afternoon proclaiming that her new favorite SUV is our long-term 2014 Jeep Cherokee. And she's not alone. I'm not sure if anyone else on staff would go so far as to use the "favorite" descriptor, but after just over a month of honeymooning with our new long-termer, it's safe to say that the Jeep is quickly finding its way into the good graces of a number of Autoblog staffers.
There's good reason for all that praise, too. Thus far, the Jeep has proven itself to be incredibly competent and comfortable for daily life - it's functional, quiet, and packed with a host of amenities that make it easy to live with. It's been wholly trouble-free (with less than 4,000 miles on the clock as of this writing, it ought to be), but even nitpicks have been few and far between.

Jeep sets all-time sales record in 2012

Last year was good to Jeep. Chrysler has announced its trail-rated brand set an all-time global sales record in 2012 by moving 701,626 units. That number easily surpasses the previous record set in 1999 when Jeep sold 675,494 models. All told, the brand saw a 19-percent sales increase worldwide over 2011, and much of that swell can be traced directly to the Wrangler. While the Grand Cherokee led Jeep sales, the Wrangler posted record numbers both globally and within the US, moving 194,142 and 141,669 units in each market, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Compass beat its previous global sales record with 103,321 units rolling off of dealer lots. In the US, Jeep sold 62,010 Patriot units, breaking that model's previous record as well. Jeep's impressive performance in 2012 marks the second year in a row the brand has seen double-digit percentage sales increases. Check out the full press release below.

Fiesta-sized Jeep coming in 2014

We've heard rumors before about a new, baby Jeep to slot below the new-for-2014 Cherokee (pictured) in the automaker's lineup. Now, Edmunds is reporting that the new crossover will arrive sometime in 2014, and will be about the same size as the Ford Fiesta. This currently unnamed vehicle will effectively replace both the Compass and Patriot in the Jeep lineup.
Speaking to Edmunds, Jeep CEO Mike Manley said that the new, small Jeep will be assembled in Italy and marketed globally beginning sometime next year. Manley did not provide many details on the new model, but did say that it will be 4.2-meters (165 inches) long. The Cherokee, by comparison, is 4.6-meters long (181 inches). Furthermore, Edmunds reports that while the new small Jeep will offer diesel power in other markets, there are no plans for an oil-burning version here in the US.
Many other automakers are exploring this smaller crossover segment here in the US. General Motors recently launched the Buick Encore, which is loosely based on the Chevrolet Sonic subcompact's platform. Ford has already launched its Fiesta-based EcoSport in other markets, and has reportedly been pondering the idea of offering it in the US, as well.
