EVEN THE RENEGADE STRIPES STILL LOOK AMAZING! THE FLOORBOARDS STILL WEAR THEIR ORIGINAL PAINT TOO. NO RHINO LINING HAS BEEN DONE TO HIDE RUST, ETC. THE BODY IS NEAR PERFECT. IT IS SUPER, SUPER STRAIGHT WITH ONLY THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT FENDER KEEPING IT FROM BEING 100% PERFECT. THERE ARE NO RUST ISSUES. THE TUB, FRAME, BODY MOUNTS, WHEELHOUSES, ETC. ARE ALL SUPER, SUPER SOLID. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF ANY PREVIOUS RUST REPAIR AND THE BODY MAINTAINS ALL OF ITS ORIGINAL STEEL BODY PANELS. IT IS SO DIFFICULT TO FIND AN OLD CJ LIKE THIS ANYMORE. THE JEEP HAS BEEN LIFTED PROFESSIONALLY WITH A RANCHO 4 INCH KIT. IT GOES DOWN THE ROAD NICE AN STRAIGHT WITHOUT EXCESSIVE WANDER LIKE A LOT OF LIFTED CJs. Jeep Cherokee appears in Chrysler's second Super Bowl spot
Mon, 03 Feb 2014The second of three spots produced by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles for this year's Super Bowl featured the all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee. Aired during the game's half time show, the minute-long ad didn't strike as anything new or innovative from an automaker with a reputation for above average Super Bowl spots, but it did show the controversially styled Cherokee in the best light possible.
Called Restless, the commercial shows young, adventurous types doing the sorts of things that young, adventurous types do: surfing, skateboarding, cliff jumping, staring off into the sky with a pensive expression, etc. Scroll down to watch Restless for yourself and let us know in Comments if Jeep managed to hold your attention during half time.
Why Mopar won't release a factory lift kit for the new Jeep Cherokee
Thu, 24 Apr 2014The Jeep Cherokee Dakar concept showed off at the 2014 Easter Jeep Safari made a lot of online friends, even the Cherokee naysayers assenting that there's a monster Jeep underneath the Cherokee's skin if you're willing to go in and get it. But after reading Road & Track's write-up of what went into creating the Dakar, particularly its lift, you'll understand why you'll probably never see the components for it in the Jeep Performance Parts catalog.
The concept's press release mentions a "prototype Jeep Performance Parts lift kit, and additional suspension modifications." The short-story explanation is that the front struts on the standard Cherokee weren't engineered to accept any amount of lift, so the long story begins with the phrase, "an entirely new suspension." Jeep Cherokee won't get diesel until sales of oil-burning Grand Cherokee improve
Tue, 01 Jul 2014Okay Jeep fans, you want more diesel options? Time to step up and prove it. The only way Jeep will offer a diesel powerplant in the Cherokee, according to brand head Mike Manley, is if sales of the Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel nearly double.
Currently, about eight percent of the Grand Cherokees sold feature the 3.0-liter, EcoDiesel V6. That's simply not enough to warrant the bringing an oil-burning Cherokee to the US market, despite the vehicle's presence in Europe, where it's sold with a 2.8-liter diesel V6.
"Cherokee is slightly different because of its weight and size. When I think about bringing Cherokee diesel here, I would like to see Grand Cherokee diesel get much higher than eight percent," Manley told Automotive News. "It would have to be in mid-double digits."
