Needs minor detailing, no tears in upholstery and cloth is clean. Starts and runs fine. AC is under dash but needs recharge. Heating system works well."

For your bidding consideration is a 1979 Jeep Wagoneer Custom with Quadratrac.(switch in the glovebox) 109" wheelbase.  Odometer is showing 30,915. The vehicle was purchased from an estate.  NC state inspection expired in November of 2000. It has had the headliner replaced, carpet replaced. Also new battery & and alternator along with a carburetor rebuild and new distributer cap. It has an older repaint in the original color that still holds a shine with some chips around the hood . Some repairs seem to have been made on the Right rear "dogleg". The air conditioner is an under dash style unit.  It blows air without being noisy, same as the heater, however the air will need to be checked and recharged. It starts with one depress of the accelerator pedal and warms up to one "pat-down" to idle. According to the VIN # this model is a 6200 lb. GVW model.  The radio is an AM/FM/CB and the original mic is still in the glovebox. The rear gate operates up and down nicely.

In an effort to summerize the condition and history of the vehicle, I can represent it truthfully this way.  The vehicle belongs to a family member and was purchased from an estate. I am helping my family member to sell.  Since 1994, I have done upholstery and prior to that, worked at an automotive shop which my father owned for 12 years.  I am aware of normal wear and tear that comes with everyday use and age in vehicles.  Although this vehicle needs some detailing I can honestly tell you the interior is original with very minor wear on the driver's seat. There is no wear on the foot and emergency brake pedals. All the repairs made so far are also normal for a vehicle that has been sitting since 2000. The steering wheel is not torn, worn or damaged.  There is some breakage on the seat belt buckle shrouds from age. I cannot honestly say the odometer is correct at 30,915..  however, I can say this vehicle does not show the kind of wear I've seen on a 130,000 mile Wagoneer.

I will be happy to send additional pictures of the vehicle you might request that do not appear in the initial listing. Also the vehicle is where someone can come to inspect it.  I am in the Western mountains near Brevard NC and the owner can be contacted at 1-828-421-5813.  As far as viewing the vehicle or listing details I can be reached at 1-828-862-8738.

I will answer all questions promptly & accurately.

China orders Jeep to investigate Wrangler fire risk

Mon, 06 Jan 2014

It's been some time since we've heard anything about fires related to the Jeep Wrangler (foreign or domestic), but it sounds like the go-anywhere SUV could be in hot water once again in China. Bloomberg is reporting that the Chinese government is ordering Jeep to investigate the matter and, in the meantime, also recommending Wrangler owners to not drive their vehicles in "extreme conditions" due to a "relatively high risk" of catching on fire.
There is no indication as to how many vehicles or which model years are affected, but the previous fire problems in both the US and China - which led to investigations but no recalls - were traced back to automatic transmission fluid leaks. The article, however, does not say what the potential problem is this time around as Jeep has not released a comment on the matter. The official notice, in Chinese, can be found here.

2015 Jeep Renegade

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

It's no secret that the midsize crossover segment is one of the most hotly contested battlegrounds in the automotive industry. Long have vehicles like the Ford Escape, Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 duked it out for those ever illusive consumer dollars. For many customers, though, even something like a Nissan Rogue is too big, whether in terms of price, fuel economy or just plain size.
For those customers, a growing market segment seems poised to fulfill their needs. Compact crossovers and tall wagons like the Nissan Juke and Kia Soul offer the high-riding driving experience with all the utility that comes from their two-box layout. It's an underrepresented segment among manufacturers, with big names like Toyota, Ford, General Motors and Honda lacking a true competitor.
To capitalize on this growing class, Chrysler's Jeep brand has readied this: the Renegade. That's right. Not Jeepster - Renegade. This diminutive off-roader, which rides on Fiat Chrysler's new small-wide 4x4 architecture, represents Jeep's first foray into the subcompact CUV segment as we know it, and it's making its official debut this week, on the floor of the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. Join us as we take a close look at one of Jeep's most important products in some time.

2013 AEV Brute Double Cab

Fri, 11 Jan 2013

These are the guys who bring an M777 howitzer to a knife fight. In terms of overall rugged utility, the all-new 2013 Brute Double Cab from American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) is about as overkill as they come, and we can't seem to get enough of the beasts that this company produces. Unlike most aftermarket firms, always striving to lower cost and increase volume (but at the expense of quality), Michigan-based AEV takes pride in its OEM-quality design, engineering, manufacturing and testing. Everything is as good, or better, than the stuff from the factory, and they have been doing it this way for more than 15 years.
Launched at the recent 2012 SEMA show was the 2013 AEV Brute Double Cab. Its debut marked the company's expansion to a four-door Brute on the newer JK platform (drawing inspiration from the Land Rover Defender 130). I recently spent a few hours with the new truck in sunny Southern California, though unfortunately, due to time constraints, I was limited to pavement-only driving impressions.
