1984 Jeep Wagoneer on 2040-cars
Dallas, Georgia, United States
I am finally going to part with my Wagoneer. This has been a great
family truck and has taken us many places over the last several years.
Recently we had to replace the engine transmission/transfer case in it.
The old set up had 240, 000 miles on it and the transmission started
slipping. We bought an 88 Grand Wagoneer with 120, 000 on it just for
the drive train. The swap is complete except for a couple minor things;
gauges and ac. It has good tires with at least half their life left. It
has a 4 inch lift kit that suits it very nicely. We just had to replace a
front caliper on it as the old one locked up. It has a new radiator,
cap, and water pump I replaced this all last summer with new components. The glass is good except a chip in the windshield,
it has been that way since we bought it. The interior is decent. The
seats are good but the carpet is rough. The back glass goes down with
the key but not with the switch on the dash. The body and frame a real
solid with minor surface rust. However, it needs paint to be really
nice. As with all Jeeps it has a few things that could use attention.
The fuel gauge has never worked since we've owned it. The sending unit
is the problem. Right now the oil pressure gauge is not hooked up to the
sending unit. This has been a great family truck. But I don't need anything this big anymore. It is for sale/trade locally so I may end the auction early and I have the clear title in hand.
I can't get any bigger pictures on eBay. I you want larger, or more, pictures please email me and I'll get them to you. |

Key-swapping thieves steal Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT from FL dealer
Sat, 09 Nov 2013Just a few weeks back, we reported on the theft of an Audi RS5 by a pair of creative thieves who managed to swipe the car's keys when the salesperson stepped away from their desk. Now, a Florida dealership is missing a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 after some crooks switched the Jeep's keys with an identical, non-functioning set.
According to the report from local NBC affiliate WPTV, the men went in and spoke to a dealer about the Jeep. They walked outside, took a look at it, started it up and in the process managed to switch out the fobs. After doing their time with the salesperson, the thieves walked back out to the car, got in and drove away.
"I mean obviously, the way it was done, I think that they were professionals and they knew what they were doing," said Arrigo Jeep General Manager Joe Tufo. "The fact that they did it in broad daylight and switched the key fob and it was like it was nothing. That's what makes it unique," he added.
Gilles defends 2014 Jeep Cherokee design as "very contemporary"
Thu, 28 Feb 2013Following the forced-hand introduction of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, there has definitely been a mix of responses revolving around everything from its design to the return of the legendary nameplate. As evidence of this, just check out the 1,000+ comments in our article last week and some of the many opinions that were voiced. Following this not-too-warm reception, Ward's Auto had a chance to talk to Chrysler designer chief - and SRT president - Ralph Gilles, who shed a little more light on the styling direction of the new Cherokee.
Rather than looking to previous models for inspiration, Gilles says that the Cherokee has been designed to be more contemporary, with Mark Allen, head of Jeep design, adding that a main goal was to make sure the design still looks modern five years from now. Interestingly, Gilles does point out that one of the design elements incorporated on the new Cherokee that pays homage to past Jeeps is the sharply downward angle for the leading edge of the beltline, which he notes is meant to mimic the look of the old YJ and TJ Wrangler models fitted with half doors. Of course, the squared-off wheel openings - a signature Jeep cue - are still used.
This is probably a design that will need to be seen on the street in actual daylight to properly assess, but in the meantime, we'll bring you full images and impressions when the Cherokee debuts at next month's New York Auto Show.
Chrysler teases upcoming outlay of SEMA cars
Wed, 15 Oct 2014Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is hauling a multitude of modified models to the annual SEMA show in Las Vegas this November, and the company is releasing the first teasing sketches of many of them.
Unfortunately, FCA isn't giving many solid details on any of the concepts other than saying the vehicles from Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram and Fiat all benefit from tuning from its Mopar performance brand. The teaser photos include a sinister-looking Chrysler 200S, Fiat 500 Abarth with two-tone paint and a scorpion on the hood, a red and black 500L, seemingly two different takes on the Jeep Renegade, a green Dodge Challenger wearing the T/A badge, an orange and black Dart, a very neon Charger, just the outline of a red and black Viper, a Ram ProMaster in Mopar livery and a Ram pickup called the Outdoorsman.
Take a look through the gallery to see what you think of the sketches for these concepts, and scroll down for the full announcement from FCA.
