1985 Jeep Corporation (amc) Wagoneer Limited on 2040-cars

US $7,500.00
Year:1985 Mileage:166550
Location:

Selling my 1985 Wagoneer Limited. These were the top of the line smaller Wagoneer in it's day. American Motors Cooperation still owned/produced these also, which makes them very collectable. NADA guide shows values at low retail of $7,875, average $14,400, and high $25,300. Mine should be considered average, or above, due to it being in good mechanical condition. I had the engine completely overhauled by a certified mechanic, replaced AC compressor, new blower motor/switch, repaired cruise control, replaced transfer case, and had the drive train checked completely. This Jeep is in good mechanical shape. It gets a lot of  looks and comments when you drive around town too!
This Jeep also has the optional Selec-Trac four wheel drive system, you can shift to four wheel drive at any (legal), speed, and also run full time four wheel drive if you desire. This is a rust free Texas vehicle, has been adult and highway driven. As the photos show, the paint and wood grain are faded. It will not take much to make this a show piece. It even has the original spare tire and jack, never been used! It has the original owners manual also. I have all the badges that were on it. I have a complete vehicle just like it, (for parts). If interested with very low cost. This Jeep is very dependable and you can drive it home if you wish. The tires have fair thread but are older.
These Wagoneers are getting hard to find and will make a good investment as they continue to increase in value. Buyer is responsible for transport. Paypal only with $1000.00 down when listing ends and remaining balance due upon pick up.

Australian Jeep marketing stunt goes awry [w/video]

Tue, 15 Jul 2014

Jeep fans in Australia are none too happy with the off-road brand following a contest that saw ten new Cherokees sold for just $10,000 Australian (about $9,400), roughly a quarter of the vehicle's price Down Under.
The contest, called the "World's Most Remote Dealership," gave Aussies the chance to snag an ultra-affordable Cherokee Longitude (analogous to the US-spec Latitude trim), provided they could get to a secret dealership in the remote wilderness of western New South Wales, near the border with the state of South Australia.
In order to get the exact location of the dealership, though, potential customers needed to download an app, which would release a phone number 9:00 AM AEST on Thursday (7:00 PM EDT, Wednesday night). The first ten people who could call in and prove they could afford to finance $10,000 and get to the remote dealership, were given the location of the remote dealership.

NHTSA closes book on Jeep 'trailer hitch' recall after all

Mon, 20 Jan 2014

After much debating and hand-wringing, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration now says it has "no reservations" with Chrysler's plan to recall certain Jeep Liberty and Grand Cherokee models over concerns that their fuel tanks, which are located behind the rear axle, could rupture or leak in the event of a rear impact. The longstanding argument between the two entities saw Chrysler openly defy the Feds after a request to recall 2.7 million units back in June.
Chrysler's "voluntary campaign" will instead see it recall 1.56-million 1993-2004 model year Grand Cherokee SUVs, along with 2002-2007 Liberty models. Affected vehicles will get a trailer hitch installed free of charge, which Chrysler says will provide an additional degree of protection for the fuel tanks in the event of a crash. Jeeps with Mopar-branded hitches or hitches that were installed at the factory aren't affected by this recall.
Chrysler's argument throughout this battle has been that the Jeeps in question are no more susceptible to fires than comparable vehicles from the same time period, a position that NHTSA has seemingly arrived at as well. "Those vehicles performed at a rate similar to their peers. That is the keystone analysis as to whether something poses an unreasonable risk to safety," said outgoing NHTSA boss David Strickland during an interview with the The Associated Press.

Jeep does Renegade Chinese-style with Zi You Xia design concept

Sat, 19 Apr 2014

As we mentioned, Jeep is bringing a quartet of concepts to the Beijing Motor Show this year. Its largest model, the Grand Cherokee, is nowhere to be found, but its smallest is. That, of course, would be the new Renegade, which has been done up as the Zi You Xia design concept.
Taking its name from the Mandarin word (or words) for "rebel," the Zi You Xia takes its inspiration from the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, with a Warm Chocolate Gray paintjob with contrasting dark bronze trim. The roof, grille and mirror caps are color-keyed to match the rest of the exterior, riding on 20-inch alloys in the same dark bronze finish.
Inside it's all Piano Black, Anodized Copper and brown leather with plaid fabric inserts. Scope it out in the high-res image gallery above and the press release below.
