1986 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Base Sport Utility 4-door 5.9l on 2040-cars
Sauquoit, New York, United States
please read entire listing before bidding! AMC Jeep Grand Wagoneer PROJECT, 3 inch lift, driven daily til a week ago when i lost oil pressure and developed a knock. found some metal flakes in the oil after changing it so i'm pretty sure i spun a bearing, but the knock has gone away so the motor seems ok and could easily be rebuilt. frame is solid, body is pretty good, but does need floor pans. passenger side is worse than drivers side to the point where there is one body mount rotted. there is a couple holes in the back bed as well. passenger side windshield pillar is rotted at the top also. 4x4 works good, interior decent but needs a headliner. front seat has a couple small cracks, arm rest leather is split on the seam. rear window works. drivers window regulator removed, but i have it and the door panel with pieces. exterior woodgrain is shot. i have all the trim though. i started to peel some of the woodgrain vinyl and paint is good underneath. i LOVE this truck and would easily consider fixing but it was my 2nd vehicle turned into a main vehicle since my car quit a couple months ago. i need cash to fix the car so this one has to go. its a good truck for someone who wants to pull the motor out and rebuild it, i just don't have the time or money, and i already have one car in my garage with the motor on a stand. low reserve for the condition and mileage. i will not let it go for anywhere near scrap price! body was redone at one point, but its starting to bubble and crack in some spots. rear quarters need to be repaired again but aren't bad. BUYER RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING, SOLD AS IS WHERE IS. PLEASE ASK ANY QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING, I WILL BE HAPPY TO ANSWER THEM. truck does run and drive but i wouldn't drive it any further than on a trailer to save the motor from further damage. again, the motor is salvageable with a complete teardown. my loss is your gain. half payment upon auction completion, the rest upon pickup. thanks for looking, i hope you can give her the love i could not fully provide. happy bidding my fellow fsj enthusiast!

Six 'shut up and take my money' cars
Tue, 11 Nov 2014Any time you see this iconic moment in pop culture - Shut up and take my money! - posted in response to a new car reveal, rumor for an upcoming model or even lip-service to a vehicle that should exist, you can bet there's some intrinsic good in the idea. Though depending on the person offering up the cash, that good could take the form of extraordinary form, functionality, weight savings, power, handling, etc. You get the idea.
In fact, when I first proposed this list, I reached out to the Autoblog staff to help me brainstorm. Here are some of the ideas they offered up that I ultimately didn't use: Jaguar XE Coupe, Pagani Huayra Roadster, Mercedes-Benz S-Class "parade car" (cabriolet), Morgan 3-Wheeler with Ducati V-twin, Ford Transit Connectamino (pickup), Mercedes CLA63 AMG, Ford Fusion 5.0, BMW i8 Spyder, Lexus RC-F Shooting Brake, Volvo XC90 Polestar. Oh, and things we collectively wanted to stick Dodge's Hellcat in were almost as numerous as models that Fiat Chrysler Automotive currently makes (though none quite so compelling as the Grand Cherokee you see above.)
Ultimately though, while I used a couple of ideas from my colleagues, the list of cars I'd shell out for unquestionably is very personal. Though it isn't complete, what follows is a selection of cars whose very existence would prompt me - or the trust-fund-baby versions of me - to utter without hesitation: "Shut up and take my money."
Jeep's new Chip Away commercial has us hunting Al Pacino's back catalog
Tue, 19 Feb 2013Chrysler has done a pretty good job as of late turning its television commercials into pep talks or rallying cries, but for its first ad for the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, it turned to Al Pacino's inspirational speech from the movie Any Given Sunday. In the movie, Pacino's character talks about how football is a game of inches, but the commercial, titled Chip Away, focuses more on the attention to detail that Jeep has exhibited on its updated flagship SUV.
Centering around the newest Grand Cherokee model, the luxurious $47,995 Summit trim level, the commercial shows off some of the hand-stitched leathers and real metal and wood accents found inside the cabin. Check out the new 60-second spot by scrolling below.
Refreshed Chrysler 300 SRT won't be sold in NA
Mon, 20 Oct 2014It looks like it might be time to bid farewell to the V8 rumble from the Chrysler 300 SRT - at least if you live in North America. The reported change comes as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles reshuffles its ranks with the Dodge brand, re-absorbing SRT and building its muscular reputation with the Challenger and Charger Hellcat models. Meanwhile, Chrysler is taking a more mainstream approach, and that likely means the end of overt high-performance models from the division for now.
According to Automotive News, the 300 SRT will be discontinued in the US for 2015, but it won't be totally dead. Some right-hand drive markets will still get the brawny V8 sedan next year, a distinction that goes a long way toward explaining some spy shots we've seen recently.
The 300 SRT's North American demise probably shouldn't come as a total shock. In FCA's five-year plan, it says that the 300 is destined for a refresh to be unveiled later this year, presumably at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show. There's no mention of the SRT model in the document, though, which seems to signal its end.
