FOR SALE. 1986 jeep has been my daily driver for 14 years and was just gone through so I could drive it from California through Central America to Panama, and am very confident it would have made the trip. So I've gone through and replaced with new holley carbs, distributor, fly wheel, starter, water pump, ignition, battery, hoses & belts. Motor was rebuilt 6 years ago, nothing fancy, small cam, sounds good & runs great. Has a 3 1/2" lift and 36s, fenders were trimmed so they don't rub. Suspension has been gone through, anything that needed to be replaced has been as far as mounts and rubber. As long as I've had the jeep I've only put it in 4WD a few times and it works great. I don't rock crawl or go off roading, so this thing has never been beat. Interior is not pretty, but comfortable. All seats have tears or rips and are worn, no headliner. New stereo but the speakers need to be replaced. Electric windows and seats all work. New heater core put in last year, it works great, but no AC. This car is ugly inside and out. Paint's faded and wood sticker's faded, but wherever I go people love this car. I hate to get rid of this car, don't need to sell it, so I'm firm on my price. This would be a great car for anybody, it's comfortable and easy to drive.

2014 Jeep Cherokee: June 2014

I got a text message from Editor-In-Chief Sharon Carty one afternoon proclaiming that her new favorite SUV is our long-term 2014 Jeep Cherokee. And she's not alone. I'm not sure if anyone else on staff would go so far as to use the "favorite" descriptor, but after just over a month of honeymooning with our new long-termer, it's safe to say that the Jeep is quickly finding its way into the good graces of a number of Autoblog staffers.
There's good reason for all that praise, too. Thus far, the Jeep has proven itself to be incredibly competent and comfortable for daily life - it's functional, quiet, and packed with a host of amenities that make it easy to live with. It's been wholly trouble-free (with less than 4,000 miles on the clock as of this writing, it ought to be), but even nitpicks have been few and far between.

Chrysler nets $1.6B income in Q4, Fiat profit up 5%

Chrysler announced its 2013 financial results today and unveiled its new name and decidedly bank-like logo. Amid the announcement, Chrysler posted big gains in income, while Fiat didn't perform to analysts' expectations.
For 2013, Chrysler had revenue of $72.1 billion, up 10 percent from 2012. Net income reached $2.8 billion, a 65-percent increase. It was the company's third straight year of annual profits.
In terms of unit sales, Chrysler sold 2.4 million cars worldwide in 2013, up 9 percent. According to Automotive News, 1.8 million of those vehicles were sold in the US, a 14-percent increase. The sales growth boosted Chrysler's US market share to 11.4 percent, up 0.2 percent.

Consumer Reports says these are the worst new cars of 2014

Consumer Reports has announced its annual list of worst vehicles, a cringe-inducing contrast to its list of top vehicles. Ignominiously leading the way in 2014 is Chrysler, which has a staggering seven models listed.
Jeep nearly sweeps the small SUV segment by itself, with its Compass, Patriot and 2.4-liter version of the new Cherokee, while the only midsize sedans listed by CR were the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger. The new Dodge Dart and the Dodge Journey round out CR's condemnation of Chrysler.
Ford is taking heat as well, with the Taurus, Edge and their counterparts from Lincoln all listed as the worst vehicles in their respective segments. Toyota doesn't fare much better, with its Lexus IS, Scion iQ and tC also making the list.
