1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Base Sport Utility 4-door 5.9l on 2040-cars
Louisville, Kentucky, United States
Don't miss out on this opportunity to own an American Classic! I am the second owner of the Jeep , purchased in Indiana and I have had it for close to 4 years. I hate to get rid of it but just simply don't drive it anymore and could use the money. Since I have owned it I have replaced the break lines, starter, tires and had the carb rebuilt. All in all this a solid vehicle with minor issues since I've owned it. The vehicle had been serviced regularly and has never been smoked in. or had pets in it. The vehicle has an aftermarket stereo with radio and CD capability and the sound system sounds great for a vehicle of it's age. Also, for those in either hot or cold climates the Heat and AC work great. I used the jeep is a secondary, weekend driver and have put around 3,000 miles since I've owned it. Customary to vehicles of this age there is what I would call minor rust above the wheel wells. Additionally, the rear window will not roll down as the window is out of the track and gas gauge sometimes works/sometimes doesn't. The interior dome lights does not work either and haven't since I've owned the vehicle. Also, the needle that indicates which gear you are in (Park, Reverse, etc.) just broke off the last time I drove it. I will gladly answer any questions or send additional picture at the buyers request. Thanks for looking and Good Luck! |

Consumer Reports digs Mazda3, disses Jeep Cherokee
Tue, 11 Feb 2014Consumer Reports has just rendered its verdict on two of the more important cars to launch this year - the Mazda3 and the Jeep Cherokee. Considering the value a "Recommended" rating carries with the public and the viciously competitive markets these two cars compete in, Consumer Reports' view could have some impact on their initial success.
For Mazda, that's a good thing. CR spoke quite highly of the Zoom-Zoom brand's compact sedan and hatch, testing both models, and citing the excellent fuel economy and snickety-snack manual shifter as high points. Downsides to the 3 included a ride that is agile but "nervous," a bit too much noise and a cramped back seat. Still, the 3 was good enough to earn its place in the ranks of the "Recommended."
The Jeep didn't fare quite so well, with CR calling the polarizing CUV "half-baked." Although both engines were tested, the magazine called the 2.4-liter four-pot underpowered and its nine-speed automatic unrefined and unresponsive. That's particularly damning, considering the 9AT's role in future Chrysler products, including the extremely important 200. Overall, the Cherokee missed out on the coveted "Recommended" rating.
China orders Jeep to investigate Wrangler fire risk
Mon, 06 Jan 2014It's been some time since we've heard anything about fires related to the Jeep Wrangler (foreign or domestic), but it sounds like the go-anywhere SUV could be in hot water once again in China. Bloomberg is reporting that the Chinese government is ordering Jeep to investigate the matter and, in the meantime, also recommending Wrangler owners to not drive their vehicles in "extreme conditions" due to a "relatively high risk" of catching on fire.
There is no indication as to how many vehicles or which model years are affected, but the previous fire problems in both the US and China - which led to investigations but no recalls - were traced back to automatic transmission fluid leaks. The article, however, does not say what the potential problem is this time around as Jeep has not released a comment on the matter. The official notice, in Chinese, can be found here.
Australian Jeep marketing stunt goes awry [w/video]
Tue, 15 Jul 2014Jeep fans in Australia are none too happy with the off-road brand following a contest that saw ten new Cherokees sold for just $10,000 Australian (about $9,400), roughly a quarter of the vehicle's price Down Under.
The contest, called the "World's Most Remote Dealership," gave Aussies the chance to snag an ultra-affordable Cherokee Longitude (analogous to the US-spec Latitude trim), provided they could get to a secret dealership in the remote wilderness of western New South Wales, near the border with the state of South Australia.
In order to get the exact location of the dealership, though, potential customers needed to download an app, which would release a phone number 9:00 AM AEST on Thursday (7:00 PM EDT, Wednesday night). The first ten people who could call in and prove they could afford to finance $10,000 and get to the remote dealership, were given the location of the remote dealership.
