Up for sale is a 1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. It is a good solid foundation for a really neat Wagoneer. There has been some money spent on the drivetrain and other mods to make it unique. I will be highlighting this Jeep in three main paragraphs. They are Exterior, Interior and Drivetrain. If I happen to leave anything out please use the contact information I have listed to ask.

Exterior: The body has seen one repaint since factory. The sand metallic paint code was used, it is very crisp and cleans up well. There is no rust in the frame or in the body itself. Except for one place in the rear quarter on the passenger side. I have it pictured, it is not through and is easily repairable. The wood grain is in very good shape still. The bumpers and all other trim are original. While not perfect they shine up very well. All the glass is still clean. I will rate the body at a modest 8 on a 1-10 scale. I think with a little more TLC it could be a 9!

Interior: It is all original on the interior. The carpet and headliner are both showing wear. The front seats, mostly the bottom areas have a good bit of cracking. The rear seat is very nice. The dash is not all cracked up but does have some bowing on one end. I will try and display everything on the interior fairly. It could use some attention or would be probably passable if used for camping/4 wheeling/etc. The power windows work. The power locks work. The air conditioning even still works and is Ice cold.  I will rate the interior at a 7 on a 1-10 scale.

Drivetrain: My Favorite part. The 360 engine runs strong and always cranks with zero issues. It holds 25 psi of oil pressure at hot idle and goes up to 50+ while driving. The previous owner has a added a aluminum intake, 4 barrel Edelbrock carburetor, Performance camshaft, Long tube headers, Flowmaster and a high flow cat. Along with the engine upgrades they have a added a Dodge 5 Speed Manual transmission with hydraulic clutch system. It shifts awesome and was set up right. The 4 wheel drive system still functions correctly. The Dayton A/t Tires are all over 75% tread. With the upgrades its a awesome sleeper/cruiser/driver.

In Closing: This is a all there Grand Wagoneer. These are getting harder to find. The upgrades that have been done make it even more unique and hard to compare to others. I have set a fair reserve price. This vehicle could not be duplicated for what I would take for it. I have the right to end this auction at any time. As always this Jeep is being sold as is/ where is. I have a clean title in hand along with a perfect Carfax. Thanks for looking and God Bless!

Dodge and Jeep recalling 895k SUVs for possibility of headliner fires

Fri, 11 Jul 2014

Dodge and Jeep are announcing recalls of a total of 895,000 Durango and Grand Cherokee models worldwide from the 2011 through 2014 model years. There's a possibility that the wiring in the sun visor can short circuit and cause a fire. It specifically affects vehicles built between January 5, 2010, and December 11, 2013, and there are approximately 651,000 of them in the US, 45,700 in Canada, 23,000 in Mexico and 175,000 outside of North America.
Screws that fasten the sunvisor to the headliner may pierce wires in the visor, if the part has been removed or serviced, potentially causing a fire risk. If the wires short circuit, they could overheat and potentially combust. The automakers report three injuries caused by this defect, and according to the investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, "there may be a total of 52 unique fire incidents."
To fix the problem, Dodge and Jeep will inspect the vehicles for suspect wiring, and all of the models, whether damaged or not, will get a new sun visor spacer with a wire guide to stop the possibility of short circuits. According to the automakers' announcement, "this condition is not present in vehicles which have not had the headliner or vanity mirror serviced." They will notify affected owners, and repairs will begin in August.

Chrysler mum on Toledo Wrangler production after meeting Ohio leaders

Jeep idles second shift it hired a month ago for 2014 Cherokee

Tue, 24 Sep 2013

In an unusual move, Chrysler is idling its recently hired second shift of 2014 Jeep Cherokee builders because, Chrysler spokeswoman Jodi Tinson said in a statement, it already has built the "critical number of vehicles we need to stock dealerships once containment is released," Automotive News reports.
After the "critical" 9,430 Cherokees were built, the layoff was enacted so as not to strain the automaker's logistics partners before the Cherokee is actually released. Chrysler says the temporary layoff will last about two weeks, with 500 workers out of work and another 600 reassigned at the Toledo Assembly Complex where the sports utility vehicle was being built. The second-shift workers were hired on August 19.
Chrysler previously insisted that it would release the Cherokee to dealerships by the end of the third quarter, and it initially planned to start selling the SUVs in mid-August. Apparently the Cherokee needed a software fix before hitting showrooms, which is how Chrysler explains why the release schedule is out of whack. We're thinking that this software fix addresses the "powertrain calibration" issue that delayed the first media test drives of the model. According to the Toledo Blade, Chrysler has admitted it is doing "extended quality validation testing" but refused to provide more information.
