1993 JEEP WRANGLER SAHARA
SMITTYBILT XRC8 WINCH W/CONTROL CABLE
FRONT TOW BAR ( NO TOOLS REQUIRED )
SMITTYBILT REAR BUMPER
REAR FOLD DOWN RACK
AIR CONDITIONING
FOUR DICK CEPEK DRIVING LIGHTS
CD PLAYER
REAR CARGO BOX

This Jeep is in great running condition. The air blows ice cold all of the accessory lights work as does the winch.
The rear rack can be folded down without being removed to open the rear door. Two wing nuts secure it.

The interior is in very good condition, no rips in the seats, holes in the carpets, even the dash pad isn't cracked.
The exterior shows very well though in it's 20 years it has had paintwork done. The doors are a few shades off but overall I think it has stood the test of time well. It's a JEEP not a Ferrari.
The air conditioning blows ice cold and the engine runs great and used no oil. The old metal radiator has been replaced with a new aluminum one.
It has been set up to be easily towed. The tow bar needs no tools to be hooked up and there are electrical light connections at the front bumper to just plug in and use the jeep's own tail lights.
There is a metal ammo box behind the rear seat with items that can be used to winch out of situations (long metal stakes, tow lines, chains etc ) or it can just be used as secure storage. This jeep was set up to be 50 miles from nowhere and get out on it's own.

25,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango SUVs recalled over brake feel

Mon, 10 Mar 2014

Chrysler has announced that it is recalling over 25,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango SUVs from several markets over concerns about brake feel under hard braking. The affected models are from the 2012 and 2013 model years, although the actual dates of production aren't available. 18,700 are in the US, while 825 are in Canada, 530 are in Mexico and a further 5,200 outside of North America.
According to a statement, Chrysler was informed of the issue by a component supplier for the Ready Alert Braking system, which primes the brakes in anticipation of an emergency stop. A component in the system was restricting the flow of brake fluid too much.
As Chrysler is quick to point out, the way the brakes functioned was in compliance with regulations and there are no reported cases of drivers losing braking power. Instead, the issue rests with what Chrysler calls a pedal feel that "was not consistent with customer expectations." So it would seem Chrysler is being proactive and fixing a problem not because there's a legal issue at work, but simply because it doesn't feel the way the manufacturer wants it to. Well done.

China orders Jeep to investigate Wrangler fire risk

Mon, 06 Jan 2014

It's been some time since we've heard anything about fires related to the Jeep Wrangler (foreign or domestic), but it sounds like the go-anywhere SUV could be in hot water once again in China. Bloomberg is reporting that the Chinese government is ordering Jeep to investigate the matter and, in the meantime, also recommending Wrangler owners to not drive their vehicles in "extreme conditions" due to a "relatively high risk" of catching on fire.
There is no indication as to how many vehicles or which model years are affected, but the previous fire problems in both the US and China - which led to investigations but no recalls - were traced back to automatic transmission fluid leaks. The article, however, does not say what the potential problem is this time around as Jeep has not released a comment on the matter. The official notice, in Chinese, can be found here.

Jeep sets all-time sales record in 2012

Wed, 09 Jan 2013

Last year was good to Jeep. Chrysler has announced its trail-rated brand set an all-time global sales record in 2012 by moving 701,626 units. That number easily surpasses the previous record set in 1999 when Jeep sold 675,494 models. All told, the brand saw a 19-percent sales increase worldwide over 2011, and much of that swell can be traced directly to the Wrangler. While the Grand Cherokee led Jeep sales, the Wrangler posted record numbers both globally and within the US, moving 194,142 and 141,669 units in each market, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Compass beat its previous global sales record with 103,321 units rolling off of dealer lots. In the US, Jeep sold 62,010 Patriot units, breaking that model's previous record as well. Jeep's impressive performance in 2012 marks the second year in a row the brand has seen double-digit percentage sales increases. Check out the full press release below.
