1995 Jeep Wrangler S (YJ)

Engine:
171,XXX miles
Four Cylinder
Seeps a little oil around valve cover, other than that, it's solid and strong.

Transmission:
Five Speed Manual
No clutch or shifting problems, no extra noises, everything works as it should.

Body:
Decent or fair, previous owner may have mudded with it. Usual rust and dings, faded paint. Solid fiberglass hardtop (it's gray, I don't know why), full metal doors, all in working order. The passenger side door has a weak latch and will occasionally open itself, more often with the top off, hardly ever with the top on. Driverside front fender came from a junkyard. TJ fender flares. 2in body lift. Should accomodate 33in tires without rubbing.

Interior:
Decent to good. Driverside front seat is torn, the seatbelt isn't retracting on that seat, rear seat isn't bolted down. Carpet is complete. Rear seat is not bolted in, bought that way. Small raise in dash on passenger side is the only real downfall on the interior other than what I mentioned. Sony stereo, AM/FM, no CD, aux input, usb/ipod input and storage.

All of the lights work correctly, drives well, gets about 18-19mpg. 4x4 works, rear is factory posi-trac. Has factory A/C, may need to be charged. Just changed the oil with Royal Purple, flushed the radiator and added Royal Purple cooling additive, changed the fuel filter in fall of last year. Michelin tires all around, stock size, about half tread left - the spare matches. Fuel gauge off by 1/4 of a tank.

2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee gets surprisingly comprehensive update, new diesel power

Mon, 14 Jan 2013

Traditionally, automotive journalists can be heard muttering something to the effect of "Geeze, it's about time!" whenever a vehicle's midcycle refresh is revealed. As we routinely see and drive new models many months before the public even claps eyes on them in showrooms - and then go on to tweeze apart their minutia in our daily writings - perhaps some impatience is to be expected. With so much exposure to a given vehicle, it's fair to say we tire of most cars and trucks far more quickly than the average consumer.
The alterations are handsome, if not subtle touches from the "If It Ain't Broke" school of design.
Which is why we're pleased to say "Oh, is it time for that already?" when it comes to the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The current WK2 Grand Cherokee hit the market in 2011 and climbed its way into our hearts with its rugged good looks, go-anywhere capability and surprising refinement. We're not yet tired of its appearance or performance, but even so, we're very glad to see Chrysler giving its flagship Jeep some attention, including a much-anticipated diesel powertrain option and some other economy-minded measures.

Chrysler recalling 630k Jeep models worldwide

Thu, 06 Jun 2013

Despite its refusal to recall 2.7 million Jeep Grand Cherokee and Liberty models this week over a gas tank fire risk, Chrysler will be recalling 630,000 Jeep Compass (pictured), Patriot and Wrangler vehicles around the globe for a pair of entirely different reasons.
The affected Compass and Patriot models are all from the 2010 to 2012 model years - 254,000 in the United States, 45,400 in Canada and 109,000 elsewhere in the world. In these models, a software error may result in the late deployment of the side airbags and seatbelt tensioners. In the event of a crash, failure of these systems could result in more serious injuries for the vehicle's occupants.
Jeep's go-anywhere Wrangler also faces a separate recall due to power steering fluid lines that can possibly wear a hole in the transmission oil cooler line. According to Chrysler, the vehicles could then leak fluid, possibly damaging the transmissions. Roughly 221,100 Wrangler models are being recalled because of this issue, all of which are fitted with Jeep's 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine. In the US, 181,000 vehicles are affected, with an additional 18,400 in Canada and 21,700 additional units worldwide. A Chrysler spokesperson said that no crashes or injuries have been reported with either case, according to the Associated Press.

Jeep teases pair of Moab concepts early

Tue, 19 Mar 2013

With the 47th annual Moab Easter Jeep Safari coming up at the end of this month, Jeep is preparing to roll out six new off-road-ready concept vehicles. The first two being teased are the Jeep Grand Cherokee "Trailhawk II" concept and the Jeep Wrangler "Slim," and while we have no information on either, we at least get an idea of what they'll look like.
We can't tell why this Wrangler is called Slim, but it has a nice black-and-red paint scheme with a serious off-roading front bumper and five-spoke beadlock wheels. There's even less we can figure out about the Grand Cherokee's Trailhawk II concept except that it appears to be painted up in the same Crusher Orange paint job as the recently introduced SRT Viper TA. We'll likely more of these as well as peeks at the other Moab concepts as we get closet to this year's Moab Easter Jeep Safari, which will be held March 23 through 31.
