1997 Jeep Wrangler Sport Sport Utility 2-door 4.0l on 2040-cars
Yorktown, Virginia, United States
I am selling a 1997 Jeep Wrangler TJ Sport addition. This jeep is definitely in need of some TLC but with some work this jeep could be a real head turner. There were a lot of things that the previous owner did not disclose, I have already completed a lot of the work but there a few things that still need to be fixed.
Here is a list of the bad; The synchronizers in the transmission are bad and it will need to be rebuilt. (it is still drive-able it just grinds when you shift) The ECM needs to be replaced (it has been rebuilt once already so it may be an issue with the wiring, vehicle may have been under water) The U joints need to be replaced Here is the list of the good; New top Front seats have been reupholstered New back seat New seat belts Fresh paint Brand new power steering gear box New radiator Head gasket and thermostat have been replaced The interior is in good shape New exhaust manifold I did want to add that due to the ECM failure the vehicle is giving a misfire code on the #2 cylinder, so the vehicle is drivable but not for long distances or high speeds. Due to the bad u joints the jeep does shake during acceleration. We have had one bad experience with a buyer not following through with a purchase so please have an idea of how you will have it shipped. We will require payment within 7 days of the close of the auction. *** |

2014 Jeep Cherokee uncovered with bold new look
Fri, 22 Feb 2013Jeep has been shuttling around Alfa Romeo-based test mules and camouflaged prototypes of its replacement for the current Liberty for some time now. Those heavily disguised vehicles may have offered a glimpse of the new Jeep, but a new set of production-line images from Jalopnik tell a much more complete story.
Jalopnik report indicates unequivocally that the Cherokee name will be re-upped in place of Liberty, though it doesn't spell out exactly where that thinking comes from, though a name change has been rumored for some time. Chances are good that the same source that delivered these factory images delivered the name, as well.
The Cherokee absolutely has some Alfa Romeo DNA in its makeup, the final product is far from looking like its Guilietta ancestor. The athletic, high-waisted design is relatively attractive from what we can see here, though the grille and headlight treatment are sure to cause a lot of ruckus when the Cherokee makes its official debut at the New York Auto Show in April. The very narrow, pointed headlamps are pinched in a not particularly Jeep-ish fashion, and the curved, short version of the seven-slot grille is far more rakish than anything that Jeep has produced to date.
Jeep leads list of 25 most patriotic brands
Thu, 04 Jul 2013It's not unusual to feel extra patriotic this time of year, what with the Fourth of July being today and all. As if to celebrate, New York-based research firm Brand Keys conducted a study among 4,500 consumers about what brands they find to be the most patriotic. According to the Detroit Free Press, Jeep took top honors in this study, besting other American stalwart brands including Coca-Cola, Levi's and Hershey's.
Interestingly, the only other automotive brand to make the list was Ford, in the 16th spot (motorcycle fans take note - Harley-Davidson claimed the No. 13 slot). This means consumers found Jeep to be more patriotic than any of the brands in the General Motors portfolio, including Chevrolet, which has long used American themes in its advertising over the decades.
According to Brand Keys, Jeep came in "with a score of 98 out of 100 on a scale representing consumers' emotional engagement expectations," the Detroit Free Press reports. Be sure to read the report to scan the entire Top 25 list for yourself.
Jurassic Park made a big impact on these Jeep drivers
Thu, 12 Jun 2014For a certain cohort of young folks, Jurassic Park is a touchstone film from their childhood. Not only did it play into practically every little boy's love of dinosaurs, the movie included some great action scenes and special effects that still hold up today. In its latest video, The Aficionauto takes a look the Jurassic Park Motor Pool, a California car club with over 40 fans who created replica vehicles from the iconic film.
The club is made up of an interesting cross-section of people. Many of them were Jeep Wrangler fans that already loved off-roading and Jurassic Park, and liked the idea of bringing them together. Like any close-knit club, it ends up being about community and people coming together to share their interests. It's quite a heartwarming video. Also, be sure to stay until the end because The Aficionauto teases a future Jurassic Park-themed vehicle. Scroll down to check out the motor pool.
