I am the original owner of this 1997 Jeep Wrangler Sport with 92,047 miles that is in very good condition aside from the frame (see photos). The vehicle is blue with both a factory hard top and recently replaced factory soft top. It has the straight 6 cylinder 4.0L engine with the 5-speed manual transmission. Both the engine and transmission operate flawlessly. The vehicle has been garage kept for the majority of it's lifetime and has been maintained meticulously with oil changes every 3,000 miles, tires rotated, etc. Vehicle has never been off-roaded or involved in any accidents or collisions. All five tires are in good condition with plenty of tread life remaining. There is one small sun spot on the driver-side hood where the clear coat has faded. Otherwise the exterior is near perfect. The interior is complete with all seats, clean carpet, radio, sound bar, new front seat covers and full doors. Selling as is where is with no warranty expressed, written, or implied. The vehicle may be driven, however at the buyer's risk due to frame condition (again see photos). Sold with clean NJ title and NJ inspection good through October 2015. LA-bound 2014 Jeep Wrangler special edition gives us the Willys for $25,795
Mon, 18 Nov 2013The Jeep Wrangler might be the reigning king of special editions, but with sales records being broken almost all year, this plan is obviously resonating with buyers. Joining new models like the Dragon Edition and Polar Edition, the 2014 Jeep Wrangler is adding a new Willys Wheeler Edition to pay homage to Jeep's military heritage.
Getting ready for its big debut at the LA Auto Show, the 2014 Jeep Wrangler Willys Wheeler Edition is inspired by early Willys CJ (Civilian Jeep) models with exclusive styling and upgraded off-road goodies. Starting with a Wrangler Sport, these upgrades include a Dana 44 rear axle with limited-slip differential and 3.73 gears, along with meaty BF Goodrich KM Mud Terrain tires mounted to the Willys Wheeler's black 17-inch wheels. For more of a classic Jeep look, this model adds a gloss black grille, "Willys" hood stickers and rock rails to protect the side sills. Jeep is also tossing in a D-ring, tow strap and gloves that are all kept in a special carrying bag.
When it goes on sale early next year, the Wrangler Willys Wheeler Edition will start at $25,795 for the two-door model, while the four-door will start at $29,595. Jeep going bigger with new Grand Wagoneer, smaller with sub-Renegade?
Tue, 11 Mar 2014The headlines are still rolling in for the new Renegade that Jeep unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show last week, but already reports are surfacing, citing sources within the company, about what Chrysler's iconic off-road brand will do next.
Speaking with Auto Express (whose reports we tend to take with a grain of salt or two), Jeep chief Mike Manley suggested that two courses of action are currently under consideration at Auburn Hills to develop two very different new models - one smaller and one larger than anything Jeep currently makes.
One plan would be to make an SUV or crossover even smaller than the new Renegade, although it isn't immediately clear what platform it would take. The Renegade (pictured above in Trailhawk spec) will be built in Italy alongside Fiat's upcoming 500X, but uses a heavily modified platform. We figure the smaller model, if approved, could base itself on the new Fiat Panda Cross.
Watch this Jeep Willys return to its birthplace after 70 years
Sun, 23 Jun 2013Earlier this month, a very significant Jeep was celebrated at the Toledo North Assembly plant. No, it wasn't the upcoming reincarnation of the Jeep Cherokee, but instead it was a 1943 Willys MB that visited the Toledo grounds where it had been built exactly 70 years ago to the day.
Of course, the actual building where the MBs rolled off the assembly line before heading to Europe for World War II no longer exists, but that didn't stop Italian owner Vittorio Argento from having the vehicle shipped to the US to make its trek back to its birth place. According to Chrysler, Argento's MB is still 95-percent original and it drove 1,000 miles from New Jersey to Toledo.
