Potential Buyer:

Sadly, I am choosing to part with my Jeep Wrangler. I recently changed the engine in it after it blew up on me Easter weekend of this year in Virginia. The engine I replaced the blown up one with, is the same size and is a Jeep engine (a 4 cylinder). The Jeep has a lot of extra off roading items I put into to it from the better lighting to the performance parts in the engine bay.

I drove this daily to work, but I also to it out to places most vehicles would never survive. It runs well, but the power steering is noisy. It probably just needs drained, but may need replaced. The paint job as of right now is incomplete (it was red, and was going to a combo of gray and black). The doors and tailgate do come with, but will need new hinges in order to be placed back onto vehicle ( I may fix this slight issue depending on when the Jeep sells). Really, as far as I am aware of there is nothing mechanically wrong with this Jeep. I made sure everything was "top notch" when I changed the engine. It simple needs some cosmetic "TLC".

Everything you see in the pictures comes with the jeep, except the tote and straps in the back of the vehicle. The doors, tailgate, and rear seat (which are not shown) also come with the vehicle. The doors and tailgate are still the original red color.

The tires are 16" Yokohama Geolanders on after market rims and are about a year old, but are still in good shape. The top is a soft top that is a little of a year and a half old, but is still in good shape. All of the top components come with the Jeep.

This Jeep has been a great adventure for me from the moment I drove almost four hours with a friend to get it, so I hope it can be a worth while adventure for you too. I am hoping I have remembered to mention all the important details needed in this listing.

Sincerely:

R. Stuart

Please feel free to contact me with any questions about this Jeep. I have not listed the makers of the after market/performance items, so, if you would like to know that feel free to inquire. Just know that I only put the best possible products into the Jeep.

2014 Easter Jeep Safari kicks off with six concepts

Thu, 10 Apr 2014

The 2014 Easter Jeep Safari is set to begin this weekend in Moab, Utah, and while it's sure to be a blast for Jeep enthusiasts from all corners of the world, we're looking forward to the wild, off-road ready concepts that Jeep will be bringing to the red rocks. As you can see in our handy headline, there are six such vehicles in total, each of which sports a variety of tweaks and custom bits.
Unlike in years past, where Jeep graced us with some outrageous concepts like the Mighty FC or J-12, this year's vehicles are a bit more restrained and a bit more buildable by enthusiasts. That's not by accident, officials tell us. They wanted to put this year's focus on attainable vehicles and accessories from Mopar and Jeep Performance Parts that existing owners can use to augment their own vehicles. So let's get to it.
We'll start with the Wranglers first. There are three concepts of the jeepiest of Jeep coming to Moab - the Level Red, Maximum Performance and Mojo. The Level Red and the Mojo (seen above) are similar from a suspension and engine standpoint. Both boast a two-inch Jeep Performance Parts lift kit, which officials tell us is coming to market in the next few months. There are a pair of Dana 44 crate axles on both the front and rear, while a Jeep Performance Parts Rock-Trac transfer case has been fitted. The 3.6-liter V6 engines on both Jeeps can breathe a bit easier thanks to a new cold-air intake and exhaust system.

Jeep Liberty under investigation for door fires

Tue, 29 Oct 2013

The Jeep Liberty has already had plenty of attention for possible fires thanks to the first-gen model's fuel tank, but now the midsize Jeep is under the microscope of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for another fire-related concern. NHTSA has opened an investigation for the 2012 Liberty after receiving two reports of electrical fires in the driver's door.
According to the investigation summary, around 80,000 vehicles could potentially be affected by this problem. In both reported fires, the drivers noticed smoke and then flames from the master power window switch, and they had to pull to a stop and exit through the passenger side of the SUV. According to Autoguide, there was one injury to a motorist who suffered burned fingers while trying to open the driver's door.
Interestingly, the Dodge Nitro is not yet involved in this investigation, even though it was still around for the 2012 model year; the Nitro ended production in 2011 about a year before the final Liberty rolled off the line for the 2013 model year. Scroll down for the official NHTSA investigation summary.

NHTSA closes book on Jeep 'trailer hitch' recall after all

Mon, 20 Jan 2014

After much debating and hand-wringing, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration now says it has "no reservations" with Chrysler's plan to recall certain Jeep Liberty and Grand Cherokee models over concerns that their fuel tanks, which are located behind the rear axle, could rupture or leak in the event of a rear impact. The longstanding argument between the two entities saw Chrysler openly defy the Feds after a request to recall 2.7 million units back in June.
Chrysler's "voluntary campaign" will instead see it recall 1.56-million 1993-2004 model year Grand Cherokee SUVs, along with 2002-2007 Liberty models. Affected vehicles will get a trailer hitch installed free of charge, which Chrysler says will provide an additional degree of protection for the fuel tanks in the event of a crash. Jeeps with Mopar-branded hitches or hitches that were installed at the factory aren't affected by this recall.
Chrysler's argument throughout this battle has been that the Jeeps in question are no more susceptible to fires than comparable vehicles from the same time period, a position that NHTSA has seemingly arrived at as well. "Those vehicles performed at a rate similar to their peers. That is the keystone analysis as to whether something poses an unreasonable risk to safety," said outgoing NHTSA boss David Strickland during an interview with the The Associated Press.
