You are bidding on an Awesome looking Jeep. Well maintianed. I purchased this from a guy last year that builds jeeps!. This Jeep has been lifted and has zero play in the steering. I put Moto Wheels on it and yes I had to buy the 5th one to put on back! New tires with less than 1000 miles on them. I purchased a sound system from Quad Tech custom made for this Jeep. Replaced factory speakers over head and in dash with Kicker speakers. Has a Pioneer deck (Blue Tooth, Ipod, and Aux inputs) and a 1200W Amp Sub system. You can actually hear and feel the sound when you drive with top down. Top is new with tinted windows. Interior is in excellent shape and so is Exterior. Awesome Metallic Blue Paint. It has a RUBICON sticker on it but it is not a RUBICON. I keep this in my garage with top down and ONLY drive in dry weather. Has not been in rain or snow since I owned it. 2016 Jeep Wrangler to ditch solid axles to save weight?
Tue, 29 Oct 2013Hey, Jeep fans. If you think the idea of a funky-looking, car-based Cherokee revival is offensive, have a listen to what might be in store for the next-gen Jeep Wrangler. Automotive News is reporting that as Jeep develops the 2016 Wrangler, weight reduction is a crucial target, and the Wrangler's rugged solid axles could be sacrificed in the name of better fuel economy.
We've already heard the next Wrangler will go on a serious diet using aluminum body panels and an air suspension system, so the idea of a four-wheel independent suspension setup for this OG SUV isn't all that surprising. Besides, it's not like an independent suspension would limit the Wrangler's off-road abilities - just check out the Hummer H1. In fact, it might be the aftermarket parts companies - not Wrangler enthusiasts - who would be most disappointed by such a drastic suspension change, as the article states that the Wrangler's solid axles and coil-link suspension make it the most popular SUV for customization.
There are probably still a couple years before we'll start hearing any concrete details about the 2016 Wrangler, at which time it will be interesting to see how stricter fuel economy and crash safety regulations have been balanced with traditional Wrangler cues like its removable doors and roof and folding windshield. Let us know in the comments below if a Wrangler sans solid axles is any less of a Wrangler.
Jeep gives Cherokee its yin and yang with Sageland and Urbane concepts
Sat, 19 Apr 2014Among the design concepts Jeep has prepared for Beijing Motor Show this year are a pair of Cherokees dressed up in contrasting schemes.
In one corner we have the Sageland concept pictured above, drawing its inspiration from Shangri-La with an Ivory Peal tri-coat and bronze trim for the grille, fascia appliqués, roof rack, sunroof, mirror caps and exhaust tips. Inside it's all earth tones with light gray Nappa leather seats and red and blue top-stitching inspired by traditional Chinese themes.
Meanwhile the Urbane concept (pictured right) takes the Cherokee in a different direction with steel blue metallic paintjob and black accents. Inside it adopts the theme of Chinese calligraphy with Piano Black accepts and dark red Nappa leather.
Jeep Wrangler likely to get aluminum body, will stay in Toledo
Mon, 27 Oct 2014Perhaps more than any other vehicle currently for sale in the United States, the Jeep Wrangler is viewed by purist fans as a vehicle that simply must maintain the status quo. In this case, that means a body-on-frame design, solid axles, a relatively large engine sitting up front and a removable top. It's always been that way, and it always will be.
Maybe.
According to the most recent reports, the next-generation Jeep will continue to soldier forth with a full steel chassis underneath its stamped bodywork. The biggest change, reports Automotive News, will be that said panels will be hewn from aluminum instead of steel, a seismic shift of a transition not unlike what's happened with the new Ford F-150. Because it won't be a unibody, the SUV will likely continue to be assembled in Toledo, OH as it (almost) always has been - the latter has been a source of heartburn in recent weeks for the Northwestern city in the Buckeye State.
