2006 Jeep Rubicon – 4.0l, 6 speed, 116K mi. All highway miles. Have Carfax and it is clean. Have added all the items below in the last few months. I have only put it into 4WD twice. 4” lift, 15x10 wheels, 33x12.50 Cooper SST, Smittybuilt front and rear recovery bumpers, 12,000# winch, KC Lites, LED fog Lights, Dual Optima batteries w/ switch, Tatton HP front and rear drive shafts, Black Magic brakes with calipers, both differentials rebuilt w/ new bearings & seals, 6” fender flares, Tuffy Underseat Drawer, Marathon seat covers, Kenwood CD w/usb, Ipod jack, and Bluetooth for phone. This is a strong running Jeep with no mechanical issues. It is in need of nothing. All fluids were completely changed when originally purchased. New belt, A/C cleaned, blown out, and recharged, only synthetic oils used, engine changed every 3500 mi. Paint is clean and shiny with no dents or chips. Jeep Grand Cherokee in headliner fire probe
Fri, 23 Aug 2013The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is launching an investigation into 146,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs from the 2012 model year, The Detroit News reports. This comes as the result of the government safety agency receiving three complaints from owners who cited fires inside the Jeep's cabin.
According to the report, NHTSA says:
"The customers reported a burning odor and visible smoke coming from the headliner while the vehicle was being driven. This was followed by flames from the headliner itself. Customers lowered the windows in an effort to clear the smoke but this increased the fire's intensity. All three vehicles had to be extinguished with a fire extinguisher or by the fire department as they continued to burn after the vehicle was turned off."

Tue, 14 Oct 2014The Ford Motor Company has a lot of reasons to celebrate after winning eight categories in this year's Texas Auto Writers Association's annual Truck Rodeo. Most important among them, the Blue Oval's latest 2015 Ford F-150 earned the prestigious Truck of Texas award, ending the Ram 1500's two-year winning streak. The 2015 Lincoln MKC also grabbed the honor as the CUV of Texas, and Ford was named Truck Line of Texas.
FoMoCo even took trophies for best technology with its extensive use of aluminum on its latest F-Series and best commercial vehicle for the new Transit 250. It wasn't a total sweep, though, because the Jeep Grand Cherokee grabbed the title of the SUV of Texas for the fifth straight time.
This year's event put 60 auto writers in 75 pickups, SUVs and crossovers and challenged them to find the best in a plethora of categories. All of the winners are listed below, and scroll down to read the full announcements from the Texas Auto Writers Association and Ford.

It's not often that recall stories make it above the fold, in that old newspaper parlance, but when one shows up as the lead story on the network evening news programs, you know it's something big.
And so it is with Chrysler snubbing its nose at a request by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to recall 2.7 million Jeeps the feds insist are at risk of potentially catastrophic fuel tank fires in a rear-end collision.
