2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara -- 4 door Jeep Wrangler with $THOUSANDS$ in extras. Only 51,XXX miles (it is my daily driver) RARE 6 speed manual (better mpg than an automatic) and fun to drive. I average over 19 MPG with city driving if you're looking for a daily driver. Tires are like new, and rear brakes were replaced in August. Tilt wheel, A/C, power windows, power door locks, cruise control and keyless entry. The Jeep has an installed American Expedition Vehicles steel front bumper($1,199) that was just re-powder coated and zinc plated so it will never rust again which also has the tow behind mounts if you want to pull the Jeep behind a motor home etc; Mopar off road steel rear bumper with tow eyes ($699) and a Champion 8,000 pound winch ($700). The upgrades really add a look to the vehicle to make it stand out from other Wranglers. It has the 3 piece Freedom top (removable panels) with Defender roof rack made of 16 gauge steel (lightweight) ($550), steel tail light surrounds ($100) also re-powder coated, riveted fuel filler door ($60) with locking gas cap ($15), tow package and HID KC Lites ($300) on front bumper for added visibility round out the exterior upgrades. On the inside; Infinity sound system with MP3 compatibility and subwoofer in the cargo area, upgraded aluminum accent trim pieces around the shift boot and rocker panels instead of the factory plastic ($300) as well as off road grab handles ($30) and a brand new Quadratec rubber cargo mat ($70). PERFORMANCE upgrades include: Air Raid air filter ($300) for increased air flow and according to Air Raid a +14hp bump and 24 lb./ft. of torque increase as well as a Jet Engine Chip ($320) for up to a 25hp gain with improved power across the board. Air filter makes the Jeep sound great and you can certainly tell a difference in performance from a stock Jeep. I still have original bumpers and air intake that will go with the Jeep when sold. Vehicle exterior is in good condition, normal wear from driving and one scrape on the drivers side rear quarter panel that is about 2" long (I can e-mail photos). Interior is in perfect condition, never smoked in, no rips, tears or stains. This is not a standard run of the mill Wrangler, it stands out from the rest and has over $6,000+ in upgrades after installation and taxes. Kelly Blue book has it at over $24,000 without all the upgrades. Pick this low mileage, already upgraded example for $21,800, sell the original bumpers for $500 and get some money back! Priced competitively with other Jeeps without upgrades, similar mileage, and year. Although it looks like an off-road machine, the most off-road it has seen is a gravel driveway.

**Vehicle is sold as-is---if you have questions about condition ask before bidding***

Oil just changed and fluids topped off 11/27/12 - will have oil changed again before sale as well as tires rotated (only 3,400 miles put on since last oil change)

2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT

Jeep's Super 'Ute Is Fun Thrown In The Face Of Conventional Wisdom
Let's talk asses for a moment. What do they have to do with the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, you ask?
Well, we're here to tell you that this SRT can haul some. Lots of them, as a matter of fact: Jeep has increased the towing capacity of its most powerful SUV to 7,200 pounds. Assuming the average donkey weighs about 400 pounds, the Grand Cherokee SRT can haul ass to the tune of 18 burros, give or take a covered trailer or so, which is significantly more than it could in previous years. In 2013, the machine could manage 5,000 pounds, while the first generation was rated at just 3,500. The increase is mostly attributable to a new eight-speed automatic transmission and beefier rear axle, and it's a welcome update for those who'd like to use their SUV as, well, an SUV with an emphasis on utility.

Chrysler expecting up to 200,000 9-speed transmissions for 3 models this year

Tue, 22 Jan 2013

Striving for improved fuel economy, we already knew that Chrysler will begin using a nine-speed automatic transmission in some of its new products this year, but what we haven't known is that volume at which this gearbox will be used. According to Bloomberg, Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has been quoted as saying that the automaker expects to sell close to 200,000 units equipped with this new transmission in 2013. Those gear-rich trannies will be spread out across three models, consisting of the redesigned Chrysler 200, the still-unnamed Jeep Liberty replacement and the Dodge Dart.
This transmission should play a pivotal role in making Chrysler vehicles more competitive in their respective segments. Just for comparison, one of the Dart's key competitors, the Toyota Corolla, still uses a four-speed automatic, and a previous report indicates that the next-generation 200 could get up to 38 miles per gallon on the highway, which is better than most non-hybrid midsize sedans on the market. Marchionne says that the new Jeep model is expected during the second quarter of this year, but there is no word as to when the new 200 or nine-speed Dart will debut, but clearly Dodge would like to have the transmission in its compact yesterday. As for that volume figure, it definitely doesn't seem out of reach since the Dart, Liberty and 200 combined for a total of more than 225,000 units in 2012.
How many more gears can we expect in future cars? Probably not many more, since the CEO of transmission-builder ZF, Stefan Sommer, previously stated that nine speeds was the "natural limit" for transmissions.

2014 Jeep Cherokee

The Cherokee Is Dead. Long Live The Cherokee.
There are three sentences that, for this reviewer, define what needs to be conveyed about the 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The first: it is very good.
Jeep spent 27 years building the Cherokee and its brand, from 1974 to 2001. Twelve years ago, the Cherokee nameplate rolled away into the distant hills and retirement, at least here in the NAFTA colonies, and it was replaced by a loaded word we knew as "Liberty."
