Every single bolt that was installed for the flares, bumpers, etc. was powder coated black, and all of the parts that were used in the build were only the best. All of the parts that were installed, meaning the front and rear bumper, light brackets, and other satin black parts on the Jeep were powder coated through the highest quality establishment in the area. The powder coating cost alone was more than the cost of most aftermarket bumpers. The Poison Spyder Crusher Flares were painted through a reputable paint shop, and both the topside and the underside were completed in the identical paint to the factory Jeep paint code. All of the mounting hardware for the flares, the brackets, bolts, etc. were powder coated black for aesthetic purposes and for resilience to the elements. There have also been several questions about the ride of the vehicle and how it handles on the highway. The vehicle components that were used to raise the Jeep i.e. the Fox 2.0 reservoir shocks and the Rock Krawler lift kit, are amongst the highest quality parts available on the market today. The vehicle rides very similar to stock, and is not harsh at all for someone that wants to use it on the highway or for city driving. For someone who is very use to driving a stock height Jeep, this would require no adaptation whatsoever. Also, I should add that the tires were installed with tire pressure monitoring sensors, even the fifth tire, so the sensor does not stay on as with most modded Jeeps. Jeep Wrangler by Vilner takes extreme luxury off-road
Mon, 20 Jan 2014Vilner turned its customary and intensely luxurious attentions to a two-door Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited back in 2012, following that up this year with its take on the four-door version. A coat of lustrous black paint outside is brightened up LED headlights, foglights and taillights and layers of chrome laid on the grille, mirrors, door handles and fuel filler cap.
Stance gets an injection of brawn from the 20-inch wheels, and they'll roll faster thanks to the power upgrade from 197 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque in the 2.8-liter diesel to 257 hp and 412 lb-ft.
Inside is furious red, with cross-stitched crimson leather and Alcantara demanding your focus. When you can look away from that, you'll find the raw metal parts painted black and again ornamented in minor applications of chrome. Feel free to feast on it in the high-res gallery above.
2014 Jeep Patriot and Compass ditch CVT for six-speed auto
Mon, 07 Jan 2013It was reported in Automotive News a few months ago, but a new report on Allpar.com adds some details to news that the 2014 Jeep Compass and Patriot will get a six-speed automatic to replace the CVTs they currently use. According to a tip provided to Allpar, the 2014 models will begin production in March and be on sale sometime in the summer. The Jatco-sourced CVT in use until now - Jatco is owned by Nissan and Mitsubishi - has been often criticized, and many won't be sad to see it go.
The incoming six-speed automatic is said to be an all-wheel-drive cog-swapper that's the work of Hyundai and Magna and has been paired with the DynaMax AWD system used in the Hyundai ix35 and Kia Sportage. It won't be the only Chrysler product using a transmission with ties to Hyundai: the six-speed automatic in the Dodge Dart comes from Powertech, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hyundai. With the Patriot and Compass said to be driving down the trail for the last time this year, it will be a short run for the new tranny and the rumored addition of a backup camera and power rear liftgate on the Compass.
2015 Jeep Renegade brings the cute

Okay, enough of that. Meet the Renegade - Jeep's cute little compact crossover that makes its official debut here at the Geneva Motor Show. We recently brought you a massive Deep Dive into what makes the Renegade tick, and we're now getting our first live look at the tiny Jeep, live from its coming out party in Switzerland.
With the exception of associate editor Jonathon Ramsey, who doesn't know what he's talking about, we at Autoblog are kind of smitten with the little Jeep - it's a really unique package, featuring details that really make it kind of special (notice that jerry can pattern in the taillights, for example). Jeep will offer the Renegade with either a 1.4-liter turbo-four (from the Fiat 500L) or a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated four (from the Dodge Dart), with either a six-speed manual transmission or a nine-speed automatic. There will even be a Trailhawk version with four-wheel drive - properly trail-rated, to boot. The Renegade also features a nifty new My Sky removable roof panel system, giving this little cutie sort of a baby Wrangler feel.
