1998 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Sport 4.0 L 6 Cyl w/ Hardtop.

Due to recent move I will no longer be utilizing the Jeep thus up for sale.

My overall experience is that I have never had any issues with this Wrangler as it always starts and never lets me down. Great heat and cold AC. Black paint does have some scratches and nicks, with a rust spot coming thru on rear by tailgate. Very presentable at 10 foot, but up close does show some wear as seen in photos. I bought this vehicle for short commutes to work in winter months and have never had any mechanical issues. It is not a garage queen, but a reliable vehicle. Interior is clean, seat have no rips or tears. Carpet could be replaced or removed, but is still decent.

I purchased the vehicle in Nov 2011 with 92,500 miles and currently has 97,500. Putting 5,000 miles on in 3 years. During my ownership I have spent approximately $ 3,422.64 in work into the vehicle.

23 Dec 2012 @ 95,832 miles Goodyear replaced brake lines front to rear and flushed the brake system. $ 610.00

28 Oct 2013 @ 96,357 miles Goodyear replaced All four Ball Joints-Upper and Lower Control Arms $769.80 / Two Front Sway Bar Links and bushings $301.39 / Installed Front Brake Pads and Rotors $ 232.85 / Installed Rear Brake Shoes & Drums w/ Wheel Cylinders $ 313.79 / Front Steering End Complete Tie Rods, Sleeves, Center Link, /front and Rear Shocks replaced. $ 645.55.

29 Oct 2013 Goodyear replaced Radiator w/ Coolant Flush $ 356. / Front and Rear Differential Pinion Seals, Rear Diff Pan gasket $ 208.85 w/ $ 169.05 discount.

In addition to the above the following is the maintenance schedule I have personally performed.

12 Nov 2011 @ 92,635 miles Installed Cold Air intake filter / Anco Wiper Blades / Techtron Fuel Cleaner / Cleaned Engine Compartment. / Changed Oil w/ 6qts Mobil 1 Synthetic High Mileage 10w-30 w/ Fram Extended Guard XG-16 Filtre

18 Nov 2011 @ 92,638 miles Installed 6 Bosch Platinum II Plugs. 5 new 7mm BWD Super Mag Spark Plug wires. 1 New Rotor and Distributor Cap. / Two rear window lift support shocks / struts.

28 Jul 2012 @ 95,393 Changed Oil and Filtre with same products as noted above.

20 Oct 2013 @ 96,583 Changed Oil and Filtre with same products noted above. Replaced wipers with Bosch front and rear. Waxed w/ Maguires FX wax.

I also replaced the Trans / gear box fluids and rear Differential Fluids within the last 1,000 miles, but can not find specific records for this. I did use specific fluids recommended on Jeep Forums.

NHTSA investigating power modules on Chrysler Group SUVs and minivans

Mon, 29 Sep 2014

The Center for Auto Safety is officially petitioning the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to begin scrutinizing alleged problems with the totally integrated power module (TIPM) on about 24 Chrysler Group SUVs and minivans. The advocacy group claims that the part's failure can cause affected vehicles to stall or not start at all. NHTSA is still looking into the accusations and deciding whether a full investigation is actually warranted.
The CAS petition claims at least 70 TIPM failures, but according to NHTSA, six of the complaints are for models that don't have the modules. In 34 of the reported cases, the vehicles refused to start, and in 17 of them the engine stalled. There were also two allegations of smoke and one of a fire. However, none of these affected airbag deployment or resulted in a crash.
This petition isn't the first TIPM-related problem for Chrysler Group. A recent report in the New York Times alleged that it found 240 complaints potentially related to the issue on NHTSA's website alone. In September, the automaker also recalled 230,760 examples worldwide (188,723 in the US) of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango replace the fuel pump relay circuit inside of the TIPM-7 with one external to the unit. The original part could allegedly cause the models to stall without warning. Even earlier, the company also recalled about 80,000 examples of the Jeep Wrangler and Dodge Nitro in 2007 to have the module reprogrammed.

Jeep Cherokee faces on-sale delay

Sat, 23 Mar 2013

A report in The Wall Street Journal looks at some of the obstacles to the 2014 Jeep Cherokee that go beyond its mootable yet "very contemporary" looks, almost all of them based on Fiat's financial position. Starting with that sheetmetal, in defense of it SRT president Ralph Gilles and Jeep design head Mark Allen said they wanted to "make sure the design still looks modern five years from now."
The WSJ piece doesn't cite longevity as a factor, instead saying that its features originated in a design for an Alfa Romeo, the transformation into a Jeep design meant allowing Chrysler get it to market more quickly and save "hundreds of millions of dollars" in engineering.
The need for Fiat to save money while it weathers the European situation has cut budgets for development, engineering and the pace of retooling the Toledo, Ohio plant to build the Cherokee. In a familiar case of snowballing at work, among the effects will be pushing back the Cherokee's volume sales date and delaying updates to some of Chrysler's other products.

Watch this Jeep Willys return to its birthplace after 70 years

Sun, 23 Jun 2013

Earlier this month, a very significant Jeep was celebrated at the Toledo North Assembly plant. No, it wasn't the upcoming reincarnation of the Jeep Cherokee, but instead it was a 1943 Willys MB that visited the Toledo grounds where it had been built exactly 70 years ago to the day.
Of course, the actual building where the MBs rolled off the assembly line before heading to Europe for World War II no longer exists, but that didn't stop Italian owner Vittorio Argento from having the vehicle shipped to the US to make its trek back to its birth place. According to Chrysler, Argento's MB is still 95-percent original and it drove 1,000 miles from New Jersey to Toledo.
The whole adventure was chronicled on a blog aptly named A Jeep Comes Home. Scroll down for a brief video from Chrysler and for some photos of the Toledo visit and be sure to read more at Argento's blog.
