2013 Kia Rio EX 5 Door Hatchback with only 4,285 miles!  I am selling this car with NO RESERVE.

Chestnut color exterior.  6 Speed Automatic Transmission.  Auto dimming rear view mirror with 3 homelink garage door openers.  Rear cargo net and carpeted floor mats.  Power windows, locks, mirrors, hatch, cruise, tilt, Bluetooth, CD Radio and remote keyless entry.

This vehicle was bought new by an 85 year old lady and with 2,000 miles on the car, she accidentally drove it through a large glass store front.  Nothing was dented but the shattered glass left scratches all over the paint.  The insurance company took the car and I bought it from them.  A very reputable local body shop sanded all the scratches smooth and a new professional paint job was applied.  No evidence of the scratches can be found except for some minor scratches in the windshield and one small glass pane beside the driver's mirror, none of which show in the pictures.  This is a brand new car with full factory warranty.  Current NADA retail is $16,000 and bank loan value is $12,500.  This is a beautiful new car at a very low price.

Winning bidder is responsible for picking the car up in Rolla, Missouri within 7 days of auction.

Winning bidder shall call me within 24 hours of end of auction at (573) 364-4345 or (573) 578-3469.

I am not interested in trading this car for anything else.

I will not ship this car, therefore, no foreign bidders.

Senator calling for answers from Hyundai and Kia over MPG debacle

Fri, 30 Nov 2012

Hyundai and Kia have already gone public with plans to make good on the inflated fuel economy claims scandal that has rocked both companies in recent weeks. But one US senator, Jay Rockefeller (D-WV), is skeptical that the general public will see much good from the proposal, and he's looking for answers.
To recap: Hyundai/Kia have agreed to compensate owners of 900,000 affected vehicles for real versus previously claimed fuel mileage (as well as adding in a one- fifteen-percent premium), by way of pre-loaded debit cards. It has been speculated that this payout could crest $100 million by the time the Korean automakers are done writing checks.
Said Rockefeller to The Detroit News, "While I believe this is a positive step, I am concerned that many affected customers may not learn about the program or may find it burdensome to participate in the program." Rockefeller would reportedly like to see a monitoring system for the paybacks more clearly defined, with the goal being as many wronged car buyers as possible getting the recompense that they're due.

Hyundai spooks investors by paying $10B for new Gangnam HQ location

Thu, 18 Sep 2014

Doing things Gangnam style apparently costs a serious chunk of change, because Hyundai is reportedly paying roughly $10 billion for 19.6 acres (79,342 square meters) of land in the trendy district of Seoul, South Korea, to serve as the location for its new headquarters. That eye-popping number represents the highest amount ever paid for a plot of land in South Korea, according to Reuters. The hefty price tag reportedly scared investors enough for stock prices to sink dramatically.
Shareholders were apparently upset because the massive outlay could instead have been put back into the company for research and development or other improvements. Instead, the company reportedly bid triple the land's appraised value, says Reuters. The announcement caused Hyundai's stock price to plummet a massive 9 percent, and there were losses from Kia and the company's parts arm, as well. All told, the three of them lost nearly $8 billion in value from the falling share prices - almost enough to pay for the controversial land.
Hyundai currently has its headquarters on the outskirts of Seoul, but seems keen to move to the high-end Gangnam district to show off its rising status. It plans to build a new office complex, hotel, convention center and theme park on the site. According to an analyst speaking to Reuters, that could all cost an additional $6 billion to complete.
