2006 KIA SPECTRA5  4 DOOR  HATCHBACK.   BOUGHT THIS CAR LAST SUMMER FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER IN TAMPA FLORIDA WITH 36K ORIGINAL VERIFIED MILES.

THE ORIGINAL OWNERS WERE AN ELDERLY COUPLE THAT  KEPT THE CAR AT THEIR WINTER HOME IN TAMPA  IT WAS THEIR SPARE CAR AND WAS VERY SELDOM

DRIVEN AND WHEN IT WAS NEVER GOT DRIVEN FAR.

I BOUGHT THE CAR KNOWING IT WOULD NOT START AND AS I GUESSED THE LACK OF USE ALLOWED SLUDGE TO BUILD UP AND FOUL SEVERAL OF THE VALVES AND

CAUSE LOSS OF COMPRESSION AND ALSO THE TIMING WAS OFF.

THE KIA DEALER THAT SOLD THE CAR DID AND EXCELLENT JOB WITH A FULL OVERHAUL OF THE HEAD AND THE CAR HAS RUN PERFECTLY EVERY SINCE. THE

SERVICE MANAGER EVEN OFFERED ME A PRETTY GOOD PRICE FOR THE CAR AS HE WANTED IT FOR HIS SON.

THE WINDOWS ARE CURRENTLY TINTED BUT NEED REDONE.

THE CAR HAS MADE SEVERAL LONG TRIPS AND WAS DRIVEN DAILY WITHOUT ISSUE BY MY SON WHO TOOK A JOB IN NEW YORK CITY AFTER GRADUATION AND NO

LONGER NEEDS A CAR BUT DOES NEED RENT MONEY.

SO RELUCTANTLY I AM SELLING  THIS SWEET RIDE FOR HIM. THE CAR IS STILL BEING DRIVEN EVERY FEW DAYS SO MILAGE IS GOING TO CHANGE A LITTLE.

GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO GET A NICE CAR AT A FRACTION OF THE COST NEW.

THE ORIGINAL OWNERS WERE IN THEIR 80'S AND THERE ARE A FEW ISSUES FROM MISJUDGED PARKING ATTEMPTS WHICH I TRY TO SHOW BUT DON'T STAND OUT

REAL WELL IN THE PHOTOS BEING THE CAR IS WHITE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU VIEW THE CAR BEFORE BIDING IF AT

ALL POSSIBLE SO THERE ARE NO MISUNDERSTANDINGS.  CAR IS SOLD AS IS WHERE IS.  TITLE MUST BE TRANSFERRED  TO YOUR NAME TO COMPLETE SALE.

How the Koreans are cracking the luxury market

Tue, 19 Nov 2013

South Korea's two largest automotive brands are no longer the same companies they were when they first entered the world stage.
Anyone who visits Seoul after a few years absence is likely going to be in for a shock. What was, not that long ago, a decidedly third-world city is today a thriving, sprawling metropolis increasingly on a par with the world's most modern cities.

2014 Kia Soul

Rounding Out The Market's Best Box
As a car critic, you can tell a lot about a new car just by looking at a map. That's because more often than not, the geography of where a vehicle is initially launched will tell you a surprising amount about how the automaker feels about its new baby. Manufacturers want their models to be shown in the best light - dynamically and socially - so they put a lot of thought into where they first let members of the media slip behind the wheel. Luxury cars nestle up closely to swank hotels in the globe's trendiest locales, high-performance cars are let loose on breathtaking mountain roads with adjacent racetracks, and so on. It all makes for a tough life, as you can imagine.
So consider it telling that when Kia first launched the Soul way back in 2009, it did so in Miami. Trendy? Check. Billiard-table level, arrow-straight smooth roads? Frequently snarled with traffic? Check and check. You see, good as it was, the original Soul wasn't a particularly thrilling driver. Competent, sure, but its simplistic suspension, modest power and upright dimensions didn't exactly afford it entertaining driving dynamics. Which is exactly why Kia launched it in an environment utterly devoid of potholes and curves (save those conjured by the area's robust plastic surgery community), instead choosing a city loaded down with pedestrians and slow-moving motorists.

Kia confirms $1B factory in Mexico to be completed in 2016

Fri, 29 Aug 2014

Kia is the latest in a string of automakers to announce plans to build new or expanded factories in Mexico. The Korean company has signed a $1 billion deal to establish a plant in Monterrey in the state of Nuevo León, with construction starting in late September. If everything proceeds on schedule, the facility should be complete in the first half of 2016 and be able to produce 300,000 vehicles a year.
The $1-billion investment will create a "new, highly automated manufacturing plant," according to Kia's announcement, a facility covering 1,235 acres of land. Confirming earlier rumors, Kia will produce compact models there, but the company won't reveal specific model names, just yet. When complete, the factory in Mexico will boost the automaker's annual capacity to 3.37 million vehicles a year with 1.69 million of those in Korea and 1.68 million abroad. It will also join Kia's plant in Georgia (where the Optima and Sorento are made) as the business' other North American location.
Kia hasn't kept plans for the Mexican factory a very close secret and openly admitted it was "being considered as a possible location" to Autoblog. The country was chosen partially because of its free-trade agreements (read: NAFTA), that make it less costly to move models elsewhere, not to mention its easy access to the North, Central and South American markets. The new plant should also alleviate some of the tight supply issues Kia has had in the US.
