Lamborghini Veneno Roadster stands in for fighter jet aboard Italian carrier

How do you draw even more attention to $4.47 million hypercar? Placing it atop an aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf ought to do the trick, as Lamborghini has demonstrated with the live reveal of the new Veneno Roadster on the flight deck of the Italian Navy's Cavour.
Docked in the port of Mina Zayed, Abu Dhabi, the 787-foot flat-top is being used as a floating showcase of Italian products, with Lamborghini chosen to represent the automotive industry. A fitting location to unveil a roadster that looks like the half-breed lovechild of a fighter jet and a Le Mans racer, particularly since Sant'Agata is bound to find in the Emirates a buyer for at least one of the nine Veneno Roadsters it will produce.
"We are honored that Lamborghini was chosen to represent the Italian car industry in the UAE, as a perfect example of iconic Italian super sports cars, and that we have the opportunity to show the Veneno Roadster for the first time in Abu Dhabi, said Lamborghini chief Stephan Winkelmann. "Lamborghini has an extremely strong following in the region for its super sports cars, with the Middle East one of our largest markets in the world." This year's Geneva Motor Show served as the launch platform for three of the world's latest and greatest supercars. The Italians brought us the Lamborghini Veneno and the Ferrari LaFerrari, while the British unveiled the production version of the McLaren P1.
To put the three in better perspective - as if any of us will ever fully comprehend trio of million dollar coupes - the Aussies at Motoring.com built an infographic (click above to enlarge) that outlines what makes each of these cars so spectacular. Using unique colors to represent each of the vehicles, the team put together a variety of charts that focus on vital statistics, pricing, total production run and other parameters all designed to ease the process of digesting an overabundance of exotic goodness. Lamborghini invades Miami with Aventador parade, high-speed runs at airport [w/video]

Lamborghini is only starting to throttle the engines on its 50th anniversary celebrations. The company lined up fifty of its Italian jobs for a cannonball run down the south runway at the Miami International Airport, the Aventador Roadster breaking 200 miles per hour, then ran them all through the streets of Miami to be properly introduced to one of their most ardent clienteles.
Contrary to the appearance of the image above, no airplanes had to wait to taxi behind the ground-based flyers. Not that any of them would have had to wait long, though, since the 700-horsepower Aventador Roadsters were exceeding the lift-off speeds of commercial airliners by at least 30 mph.
