1997 Land Rover Defender 90! Low Miles... Very Rare. on 2040-cars
Fort Worth, Texas, United States
What can I say... It's the 1997 Defender. I love the car and drive it daily, but I'm a real estate agent and it's become apparently not appropriate for everyone. I love this car, but need to sell it. I've taken complete care of it...ask me anything. Very low miles (just 67,650, but will change - I drive it daily). I've upgraded the all the rear lights to LED and the interior was upgraded to leather in front and in the crew seats. The steering wheel was also upgraded. It also has LoJack and I've upgraded the stereo and speakers including a nice compact subwoofer. It sounds great. Like literally most D90's, there are a couple surface rust spots. I've had them checked out by my Land Rover mechanic and he has treated the areas, but feels they are nothing to be concerned about. There is a specific spot on the side step that is a little more aggressive than anywhere on the car, but again, it's a small area.
I just had the serpentine belt replaced and the oil changed. The guys at the shop are very disappointed that I'm selling it... and congratulate the next owner. It really is a great truck |

Jaguar and Land Rover to consolidate dealerships
Thu, 29 Nov 2012Jaguar and Land Rover are set to merge their sales facilities, according to Inside Line. Jaguar Land Rover North America President Andy Gross says 45 percent of Jaguar owners also have an SUV in their stable, so it makes sense to give customers as much exposure to the cat's high-riding cousins and possible. The number of overall outlets will remain the same, and the brands will reportedly remain separate on the showroom floor, however.
So far, just one dealer has made the move to combine under the roof of one 68,000 square-foot facility in Paramus, New Jersey (above), though a further 20 are ready to make the shift and become Jaguar Land Rover outlets. Gross believes the shift is necessary so that his company's dealer network will accurately reflect the company's products. We'll see how cozy the brands are when Jaguar starts rolling out its own SUVs in a few years.

Jaguar Land Rover building new Special Vehicle Operations facility
Sun, 17 Aug 2014It's only been a couple of months since Jaguar Land Rover announced the formation of its new Special Operations division, and we've already seen a number of vehicles to come out of it. But now the British automaker has announced a new facility that will house its elite skunkworks department.
Set to be built at Prologis Park in Ryton, England, on the outskirts of Coventry, the new Special Vehicle Operations Technical Centre will encompass dedicated production lines, F1-style flexible workshops, a dedicated paint studio and VIP suite for commissioning bespoke projects. JLR will spend some $33 million on the facility that will be home to 150 specialists - 100 of them being new hires.
The first project which the Special Operations division is working on is the F-Type Project 7, but we've already seen more projects in the pipeline - including the upcoming Range Rover Sport SVR - and you can bet there'll be more. The revival of the Lightweight E-Type also falls under Special Operations, but is undertaken by the Jaguar Heritage department located nearby at Browns Lane.
