Pre Defender Land Rover 1982 Series Iii 109 Stage One V8 Rhd on 2040-cars
Houston, Pennsylvania, United States
I am selling my RHD 1982 Land Rover Series III Stage One V8. It is being sold as is. Ebay does not recognize the VIN number but the VIN is SALLBCMV1AA166671 and the Land Rover is an 1982. This is a pre Defender for 1/4 of the price of a Defender This is a great link to check out for information on the Stage One: http://landroverv8.com/history.html The interior is very clean with RHD steering, 2 seats in the front, 3 in the middle row and a jump seat in the rear. The exterior has a nice patina with the normal wear and tear from a vehicle of this age. There is a rusted through spot that the license plate covers. The frame has been repaired by a previous owner in several spots but more than one mechanic has gone out of their way to tell me that the repairs were done correctly. The Series 3 Stage One is Full Time 4x4. There is no rust on the frame. I have the title in hand, it is registered and inspected in Pennsylvania. Included in the sale are manuals, paper work of service including when she was in the UK, original UK license plate. The vehicle has had upgrades performed (between myself and a previous owner) such as: Weber Edelbrock Carburetor and Edelbrock Intake Manifold New Clutch New Fuel Filler Tube New Rear Shocks New PerTronix Distributor New Flame Thrower Ignition Coil Land Rover Mud Flaps Tires in excellent condition Has the usual water leaks with hard rain over the front of the windscreen The drivers side (RHD) windshield wiper does not work (this should be an easy fix I just haven’t had a chance to get around to it) Usual rust on the bottom of the doors, there is no visible rust from the exterior or interior as the door panel covers it. The doors all open and close with no problems. Fuel gauge does not work This is a great vehicle that is suitable as a daily driver. It is NOT a restored example or trailer queen. I have been very happy with this Land Rover. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer

Jaguar Land Rover calls in handful of vehicles over suspension bolts
Thu, 24 Apr 2014With most recalls seemingly affecting mass-market vehicles, it'd be all too easy to assume, consciously or otherwise, that higher-end automobiles never face such issues. But the main reason we don't see the NHTSA recalling more luxury automobiles isn't because of their quality, we'd postulate: it's because of their relative scarcity.
Take Jaguar Land Rover, recalls of whose vehicles we only seem to have cause to report about once a year. So if you're figuring they're about due, here you go. The Indian-owned British auto group has just announced two recalls, both regarding suspension components: one affecting Jaguars and another concerning - you guessed it - Land Rovers.
First up we have a recall for 2013 to 2014 model year Jaguar XJ, XF and XK models - a whopping 297 of them - which have been found to have problematic toe links. Separation of the toe link from the rear sub-frame could result in impaired stability and control over the vehicle's direction, so JLR is calling them in to replace the nuts and washers on the rear toe links.
Jaguar Land Rover opens first overseas factory in China
Wed, 22 Oct 2014Anyone who's a car fan knows that Jaguar and Land Rover cars and trucks all come from the UK. And while we don't doubt that will remain true for the most part, it won't be an absolute truth for long, as the British automaker has just opened its first factory overseas.
Its new plant in Changshu, China, is the result of a $1.8-billion joint venture between JLR and local automaker Chery. It covers some 4.3-million square feet and will, once at peak capacity, produce 130,000 units specifically for the Chinese market, where JLR sells over 100,000 vehicles each year to make it the company's single largest market worldwide.
Production at what's officially known as the Chery Jaguar Land Rover Automotive Company will start with the Evoque, of which one in five globally are currently sold in China. Production will eventually encompass three models. We already know that the Discovery Sport will be next, but the third model line has yet to be announced. JLR has confirmed, however, that the Changshu plant will produce unique models and derivatives specifically for the Chinese market, so we wouldn't be surprised to see a long-wheelbase version of the forthcoming XE or next-generation XF assembled there to satisfy local tastes.
Ferrari exec to lead Jaguar North America
Tue, 06 Aug 2013Jaguar has announced that Jeff Curry will be serving as the brand's new North American vice president, effective August 13. The move is a coup for Jag, which lured Curry away from his previous posting as VP of marketing for Ferrari North America, and is further evidence of just how strong Jaguar's comeback has gotten.
Curry has spent over 20 years in the auto industry, and has worked with Audi, SiriusXM and Land Rover, where he made his start in the industry. His primary responsibilities with Jaguar will cover marketing communications, customer relationship management, and product planning.
Jaguar Land Rover's North American president, Andy Goss, heaped praise on the brand's newest addition saying, "Jeff brings with him extensive automotive and luxury marketing experience, critical expertise in leading-edge technologies and a personal passion for automobiles."
