Chatsworth, California, United States

A really nice 2001 Lexus RX 300.  Well cared for and very reliable.   Everything works well as it should.  This Lexus has Navigation...a rare factory option for it's year.  Air Conditioning blows cold.  Stereo works well.  Power everything works well.   All this car needs is a new owner.   Newer brakes and fluid changes.  Freshly detailed interior and exterior.   Exterior has the popular Pearlized white paint.   Interior is beige leather.  Please look at pictures (before an interior detail!)   Buyer to arrange pickup of choice.   This car can easily be driven across country if you fly in and drive home.   No surprises here.     Please have funds available when bidding.   The reason we are selling is because we bought a newer Lexus RX330.  We love these vehicles.   This is a no reserve auction, but reserve the right to end early if a price is agreed upon prior to auction's end.

The last pictures are after the Detail!!! ( 200.00)   What a difference it makes!!!!    A very clean car!

I really should have waited until the interior and exterior detain to take these pictures.   The car look amazing...much cleaner than the pictures.   The last 5 pictures posted are after the detail!
This is an awesome car for anyone.   What car do you know of that holds its value and still looks like luxury for a 2001 model?!

 detail, not detain...sorry!

On Apr-07-14 at 20:51:17 PDT, seller added the following information:

I am not very excited about a bidder with Zero feedback bidding.   If you have little or no feedback kindly send me a message that you are a genuine bidder.  If I do not get a response I will cancel your bid.  Sorry for this, but it has been my experience as a seller and a buyer that many "zero" feedback bidders do not follow through if they win an auction.  I too do not like to bid against a bidder with zero feedback so I will be respectful of the bidders with multiple positive feedbacks if a "zero feedback" bidder does not respond with a message to me.

Ever wonder how to really pronounce Japanese automaker names?

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

People tend to get very set in their ways when it comes to the pronunciation of words. Just look at the endless debates over whether or not to say the final 'e' in Porsche (which you should in terms of correct German enunciation). Or the argument about whether to follow the British convention and give the 'u' in Jaguar a special delivery or to say the 'ua' diphthong as more of a 'w' sound, as usually happens in the US.
This short video doesn't answer either of those automotive questions, but it does allow a native Japanese speaker to demonstrate the accepted pronunciations for several, major automakers from the country. One benefit is that it clears up the occasional debate over whether Nissan should be said with a long or short 'i' sound. Also, listen closely to how the female host says Mazda as Matsuda, the way it's actually said in the language. Even if this doesn't change the way you enunciate these brands, at least now you know the accurate way in Japanese.

Lexus IS named Esquire Car of the Year

Wed, 09 Oct 2013

Esquire holds an annual car of the year award, and for the past four years, only American or German autos, such as the Cadillac ATS and the Audi S4, have earned the publication's top pick. But for 2013, the top pick is from Japan: the 2014 Lexus IS350 F Sport. The publication calls the IS "thrilling first, responsible second."
Upon learning the top pick, we had to make sure we were still reading about a Lexus, though we admit the new IS350 F Sport is indeed a new breed, one that approaches BMW 3 Series levels of performance and handling while maintaining its Japanese identity.
Esquire appreciates the F Sport's new direction, but says, "Crucially, unlike everything else, it's not trying to be the BMW." It claims the 2013 car of the year is an "honest, gutsy, fast set of wheels."

Lexus eschews production in China over quality concerns

Sat, 03 May 2014

One of the more popular trends in the auto industry is setting up production operations in China. Mainstream manufacturers like Ford, General Motors and Volkswagen have done it, and even luxury marques like Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz have or will soon have manufacturing ops in the People's Republic.
One company that isn't building cars in China, though, is Lexus. The Toyota-owned luxury brand still manufactures all of its vehicles in Japan (aside from a few RXs, which are built at a Toyota factory in Canada). According to Tokuo Fukuichi, Lexus just isn't ready to build cars there yet.
"The German Three have a brand image that they have cultivated over the past century in their long history, but Lexus is not in people's minds like that yet," Fukuichi-san told Reuters UK.
