Up for auction is a 1946 Lincoln Continental that I have owned for over 20 years. It has a 460 Ford big block mounted under the hood (not running), and Mustang II front end and a Ford rear end. The car has two small rust areas, one under the rear window and another near kick panel on the passenger side. The fenders and bottom of door seem to be rust free. This has been a California car stored in my garage for the last 20+ years. I have one extra door and one extra fender. All the interior parts are there for the car. I also have some extra parts that are included in the auction. The car is actually registered as a 1942 and was changed to a 46 before I took possession of the car. The car is going to be listed with no reserve, and payment should only be through PayPal only. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs, and car will NOT be released until payment clears PayPal account. The sale is final, and the car is being sold "as is" condition. If you have question, please call. Thanks Tom (650)366-6943

1955 Lincoln Indianapolis concept up for auction
Sat, 21 Sep 2013
Lincoln was never a brand known for making sports cars. In fact it hasn't offered anything with less than four doors since the demise of the Mark VIII, and that was hardly what you'd call "performance oriented". But that doesn't mean that Ford's luxury marque never toyed with the idea.
In 1955 Ford delivered a Lincoln chassis (along with a 200-horsepower V8 engine and four-speed automatic transmission) to Carrozzeria Boano, an Italian coachbuilder that had just branched off from Ghia the year before. The resulting orange coupe you see here was named after Indianapolis and was unveiled at the Turin Motor Show. And while its detailing may have been divisive, the overall shape certainly caught the eye.
RWD Lincolns are coming, fate depends partly on MKZ success
Tue, 04 Dec 2012The product portfolio at Lincoln may seem a bit sparse at the moment, but if a report is to be believed, new products are on the way. TheDetroitBureau.com spoke with sources at Lincoln and Ford, who claimed the American premium brand is working on, perhaps more than one, rear-wheel-drive vehicle.
Lincoln would likely platform-share with the next-generation Ford Mustang to develop those RWD offerings in the early going. Moving forward, the report indicates that Lincoln could take the lead on other rear-drive projects in the future. As the RWD architecture continues to take shape, "most or all" of the front-wheel-drive portfolio will also be offered with all-wheel drive as an option, ala Audi.
But wait, there's more! The report also suggests that a replacement for the full-size MKS is on the way, as well as a new Navigator and a luxury crossover based on the current Ford Escape.
