This auction is for a 1948 Lincoln Continental Convertible. This car was in the process of restoration a few years ago when the prior owner passed away. From what I understand the owners son bolted the body back down on the chassis and lightly bolted the nose ,doors ,chrome, etc back on. He then sold it to a good friend of mine that bought this car and another one . He had to buy the pair to get the car he wanted so this one is for sale. According to my friend 95% of the car is there . We didn't go through every box and containers so I am sure there are some small items missing. The car has 4 new 700/15 firestone deluxe champion tires. All chrome work has been replated with the exception of the wing tips on the front bumper. All convertible latches and chrome parts are redone. Chrome knobs for the dash are redone. Deck lid latches and locks are redone. Top bows look new. There is a new gas tank not installed. I believe the brakes have been done and the car rolls and stops fine. The seats were redone in naughayde and is not to the quality standards that came in the car. He does have some new carpet material also.We have some of the old door panel and side panel trim that needs redoing.  We have theglass, window regulators, extra windshield,  radiator, transmission with over drive unit, steering column, dash frame, gages, radio ,knobs, the rare stop mounted tail light that goes by the licence plate. and some stainless trim etc. There are other parts also that we did not go thru.  NO MOTOR. The body on the car appears to be in above average condition. Only a few small rust perferations need addressing. I beleive they was are  in the lower trunk corner. Everything else is nice and solid. Of course you would want to go over the body properly but you have something decent to work with. The frame was sand blasted and lightly primed . We will pack everything we have in the car for transportation. This is the perfect candidate if you want to convert that rusty car you have , or if you need all the chrome for yours. Maybe you have a coupe or sedan as a donor to finish this or maybe you just want to make a nice gentlemans street rod.The possibilities are endless. We were going to put the car in storage but we figured we would give it a shot on Ebay first.Sold on a notorized  bill of sale.If you need a title in your state we will register the car and with that and our paper work you will receive a title. An additional fee of $150 will be charged for this service. If you need more info or pics feel free to call or email us at 207-324-5568 days or 207-432-2862 eves and sundays

Lincoln unveils its Black Label Collection at Pebble Beach

Thu, 15 Aug 2013

With the posh surroundings of Monterey, CA during the Pebble Beach week as a backdrop, Lincoln has unveiled is new personalization and luxury service brand, called Lincoln Black Label. Following in the footsteps of programs like BMW Individual, Range Rover Autobiography, and many more, Black Label is strategic strike, aimed at upping Lincoln's brand cachet while luring new customers into the fold. Speaking about this at the Black Label's introduction in California Thursday, Jim Farley, Ford's executive vice president of Global Marketing, Sales and Service and Lincoln, told members of the media that "At Lincoln, our flagship is, you get to choose. That's our flagship."
While Black Label customers will benefit from concierge-like service from their dealers - both during the sale process and throughout ownership - the focus of the introduction is strongly focused on interior design.
Lincoln chose its current MKZ sedan and its MKC Concept crossover (seen in the inset image) as the debutants for Black Label treatment for good reason: the well-received MKC points the way forward for Lincoln styling as a whole, and the MKZ will be the first production vehicle to receive the option of the high-zoot interior design. We're told that eventually, Black Label treatment will be available for the full Lincoln lineup, but the MKZ will be the initial recipient, and not until late in 2014 according to the company's current projections.

Ex-GM VP LaNeve takes over Lincoln ad agency

Wed, 10 Apr 2013

Those of you that caught yesterday's op-ed about Lincoln will have heard already, but Mark LaNeve has taken the helm at Team Detroit. Once the North American vice president of sales, service and marketing for General Motors, LaNeve will now head up the agency that handles all of Ford advertising. LaNeve will also run the account for Lincoln. While at GM from 2001 to 2009, the exec oversaw ad campaigns like Cadillac's Breakthrough and sales initiatives like "Employee Pricing for Everyone."
He left in 2009 to join Allstate as chief marketing officer, oversaw the creation of the Mayhem ad spots and was moved into the role of VP of agency operations overseeing Allstate's 10,000 agents. He resigned from the insurer in February 2012 for personal reasons and joined Team Detroit in August 2012 as chief operating officer, in charge of satellite offices in New York and internationally. He replaces ex-CEO Cameron McNaughton, and will continue to hold the title of COO.
Lincoln is trying to get its 2013 back to rights after putting big dollar commercials for the 2013 MKZ on television then having production glitches preventing cars from getting to dealerships. With rumors of a relaunch in the works, it's no surprise LaNeve has been given the reins - and from here it looks like the brand is desperate for the kind of magic he's proved he can marshal. Perhaps he can start by calling a mulligan on the renaming exercise that gave us the hoary "Lincoln Motor Company" and go back to oh, say, "Lincoln." Then he can ask the product folks to get to work on the MKC concept...
