1961 Kennedy Presidential Lincoln Limo ( Oliver Stone Jfk Film) on 2040-cars
Monroe, Michigan, United States
This 1961 Lincoln duplicate was constructed in the mid 1980's from a private builder. The builder was provided the original research and blueprints from the Hess Motor Coach Company the original builder of President John F. Kennedy's car. This car is near perfect and was said to be the match to the original by the late Bill Hess who built Kennedy's car. I acquired the "JFK LIMO" over 32 years ago. This car is the most recognizable car int he world! Over the last 20 years the JFK Limo has had a long history in itself.
In 1990 Oliver Stone and Warner Bros. rented the JFK Limo for the film, "JFK". Thru the years JFK Limo did many Hollywood films such as: "Ruby" a Sony Picture, "A Woman Named Jackie" NBC TV, "JFK Inside the Target Car" Discovery, "JFK The Lost Bullet" National Geographic, " Behind The Headlights" Speed TV, " The Watchman", Warner Bros. The JFK limo has been used in many parades and the guest list runs from the Prime Minister of defense of Ireland to the cast of Miami Vice. Over the years this car has been on tour in the private collection called The JFK Experience. From state fairs, home and garden shows to major casinos the JFK limo is the star attraction from all age groups! The car has the ability to make additional financial income when placed in the proper setting and venue. Feel free to contact me for any questions. Please, serious buyers only with financial ability to bid. A great car and a one of a kind that will ever be built. To make this car today would be very expensive and the plans are not available to bring the the authenticity of this car. The original Kennedy Limo was built in 1961 for $200,000.00 dollars. There was no amour plating, no bullet proof tires or other added specialties other then the full custom Presidential Limo details as in this car. The secret service handles, the parade rail and all other special features are from the same blueprints as the original. Truly a car to have in your collection. |

Weekly Recap: New bosses try to jump-start Cadillac and Lincoln
Sat, 26 Jul 2014
Both of America's domestic luxury brands seem to be stuck in neutral.
It's ironic that Cadillac and Lincoln got new bosses within days of each other this month. It's also a commentary on the fact both of America's domestic luxury brands seem to be stuck in neutral.
Lincoln 'not true luxury' yet, says Ford design chief
Wed, 28 Aug 2013Lincoln is "not true luxury," according to Ford's design boss, J Mays. His statements come from a story in The Detroit News that saw candid language on the issues facing Ford's troubled premium brand. Notably, there's a need for a strong character, with Mays saying, "Every brand needs to have a DNA and a unique selling point and things in the vehicle that make you think, 'That's that particular brand.'"
With a range of rebadged Fords, it's not hard to see why that DNA is missing. Mays hinted that a full recovery for Lincoln will be a ten-year process, that's been kicked off with the MKZ sedan. While that car is still largely a Ford Fusion under its extremely pretty wrapper, it's the first Lincoln in some time to inject its own unique take both through the exterior styling and through interior features, such as the vertical, pushbutton gear selection.
Some analysts weren't so certain about Mays' 10-year estimate. Jim Hall of 2953 Analytics thinks it'll be more like 30 years before Lincoln can show a true return to form. The issue, as Hall explains it, is that, "luxury has a degree of exclusivity," that Lincoln just doesn't have. Michelle Krebs from Edmunds adds, "it's definitely a wanna-be luxury brand," comparing the troubled American brand with Infiniti and Acura, two other brands that have struggled to find their place in the luxury market.
Consumer Reports says these are the worst new cars of 2014
Thu, 27 Feb 2014Consumer Reports has announced its annual list of worst vehicles, a cringe-inducing contrast to its list of top vehicles. Ignominiously leading the way in 2014 is Chrysler, which has a staggering seven models listed.
Jeep nearly sweeps the small SUV segment by itself, with its Compass, Patriot and 2.4-liter version of the new Cherokee, while the only midsize sedans listed by CR were the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger. The new Dodge Dart and the Dodge Journey round out CR's condemnation of Chrysler.
Ford is taking heat as well, with the Taurus, Edge and their counterparts from Lincoln all listed as the worst vehicles in their respective segments. Toyota doesn't fare much better, with its Lexus IS, Scion iQ and tC also making the list.
