This is a very clean low mile survivor car -   gets a lot of attention

This wonderful Lincoln just came pout of a 8 year dry storage, the owner was to old to drive anymore. It is one of the cleanest original cars I have seen for years with only 47k miles. The interior is close to mint condition. It is a non smoker car and when you get in the car it still smells like leather. The headliner, all interior trim and chrome is so nice. The seats and door panels are great shape with only a little fading on the original carpets. All the power accessories work good, including power windows, six way seat, radio and power antenna.  The car is a locale car from Seattle and still has the original owners name on the Lincoln dash plact "Hilda Hart".  The car drive great, smooth power, tight steering as you would expect from a low mile car. The brakes are great and there are no leaks when the car is parked. It was inspected buy a classic repair shop and serviced as needed. I have been driving the car for a couple of weeks and it draws a lot of attention. The car is very original with only one repair in the original color several years ago. The stainless is very nice as well as the bumpers, with only a dent it the rear bumper outside corner end. There is a straight replacement part included with the car.

The items that were serviced are,

-Tune up, oil change & lube
-Rebuilt carburetor & fuel pump
-Battery

-Cooling system serviced

All the electrical , lights, horn, signals, heater , defrost, reverse lights, cig lighter, and dome lights works well
- Inop is the clock
I just inspected the car on a hoist and found NO rust on the underside and floors. It has been in dry storage the last 8 years and was a driver up to then.
There are little pimples of rust in the lower corner on some of the doors and the corner of the rear quarter panels. Overall a very solid car.

I have sold several classic cars on e-bay in the last few years from my collection and for friends. All the buyers have been happy.
Road test, phone calls are encouraged and very welcome.  Steve Fisher 206-755-3420

Lincoln to adopt Mini-like personalization strategy?

Fri, 18 Jan 2013

There's no single silver bullet that will cure all that ails the Lincoln brand, and Ford knows that just as surely as we do. Coming out with exciting new models like the well-received MKC crossover counts as several steps in the right direction, assuming of course that the production version is as appealing as the concept just shown at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, but more is needed. According to Jim Farley, executive vice president of Lincoln, one more trick may be "mass customization."
Put another way, Lincoln is considering ways to allow buyers to customize their new vehicles right off the showroom floor, similar to how things are done at Mini, and, to a lesser extent, Scion, where Farley previously served as corporate manager. Imagine, for instance, ordering a new MKC with a large Lincoln insignia embossed into the leather seatbacks, according to Automotive News.
While we're not so sure anybody is all that interested in paying extra for more Lincoln logos, it's a strategy that has proven rather fruitful at Mini. Only time will tell if Ford's erstwhile luxury division will once again be seen as something truly worth reaching for, and if customers are willing to pay a further premium for customization.

Ford recalling 370,000 Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Town Car models

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

The Detroit News is reporting that Ford will recall some 370,000 Crown Victoria (pictured), Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car vehicles from model years 2005 through 2011, for an issue regarding the lower intermediate steering shaft. 355,000 of the vehicles in question were sold in the US, with the other 15,000 sold in Canada.
The report indicates that corrosion of the lower intermediate steering shaft could cause a "loss of steering," presumably because of a partial or complete failure of the part. The report points out the dealers will inspect and replace the offending steering component for recalled cars, and may also secure a lower steering column bearing and replace the upper intermediate steering shaft as needed. The company is unaware of any reports of the faulty part causing any accidents or injuries.
Ford helpfully lists states in which corrosion is more likely to have taken place, mostly in the Snow Belt, as you might guess. Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia are listed.

2013 Lincoln MKS EcoBoost

Tue, 13 Nov 2012

A Bench-Warmer In Waiting
I hail from Cleveland, and that means I'm familiar with sports franchises that are always falling short of championships. The Indians, the Browns, the Cavs - they've all come close, but being a resident of C-Town means learning to appreciate the effort more than a reward that never seems to come. So I can appreciate the situation in which Lincoln finds itself today, one where the past is full of repeated attempts to be competitive, and looming on the future's horizon is the next hope on which everything hinges.
That next hope for Lincoln is not the car you see here, but rather the smaller, all-new 2013 MKZ sedan. Like LeBron James entering Gund Arena for the first time, the MKZ will enter dealerships this fall as the brand's chosen savior, markedly more stylish, advanced and desirable than anything offered by Lincoln in recent memory. And that would make this car, the 2013 Lincoln MKS EcoBoost, one of the other 20 guys whose names I can't remember who played alongside LeBron during his rookie season.
