This is a 1969 lincoln mark III 460 big block v-8...it is a factory a/c car but the a/c doesnt blow but all parts are here previous owner put a switch under the dash to kick on a/c compressor...It is missing one piece of trim around the top but it is not broken and it is in in the back seat, front seat and drivers door has some sun damage but back seat, interior roof, top and all are in great shape...It has not been restored at all best I can tell, just well taken care of...everything looks original including am stereo, except brake master cylinder and I have a receipt from it being replaced. Have original owners manual and 2 plastic original owner registration cards...the first owner bought the car 9-26-1968 in dallas then when he passed his son had it a few years, sold it to a guy down the road from me and he kept it in his shop...I have clean and clear texas title, it spent its whole life in dallas,tx area and bought new from a dallas,tx dealer. It has a few paint issues and a couple of rust spots but nothing that cant be sanded out...I will be out of town from 12-16 to 12-23 so I will return email questions when I return. This is an extremely straight car...It runs and drives but hasn't been driven in over a year except when I drove it the 3 miles to my house. Tires are decent but carb prolly needs rebuild and gas is old, has small oil leak and exhaust leak. It starts up but idles a little rough...either bad gas or tuneup issue I'm sure. If you have questions please email and I will respond asap...thanks for your time and good luck bidding. shipping is buyers responsibility

Lincoln 'not true luxury' yet, says Ford design chief

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

Lincoln is "not true luxury," according to Ford's design boss, J Mays. His statements come from a story in The Detroit News that saw candid language on the issues facing Ford's troubled premium brand. Notably, there's a need for a strong character, with Mays saying, "Every brand needs to have a DNA and a unique selling point and things in the vehicle that make you think, 'That's that particular brand.'"
With a range of rebadged Fords, it's not hard to see why that DNA is missing. Mays hinted that a full recovery for Lincoln will be a ten-year process, that's been kicked off with the MKZ sedan. While that car is still largely a Ford Fusion under its extremely pretty wrapper, it's the first Lincoln in some time to inject its own unique take both through the exterior styling and through interior features, such as the vertical, pushbutton gear selection.
Some analysts weren't so certain about Mays' 10-year estimate. Jim Hall of 2953 Analytics thinks it'll be more like 30 years before Lincoln can show a true return to form. The issue, as Hall explains it, is that, "luxury has a degree of exclusivity," that Lincoln just doesn't have. Michelle Krebs from Edmunds adds, "it's definitely a wanna-be luxury brand," comparing the troubled American brand with Infiniti and Acura, two other brands that have struggled to find their place in the luxury market.

Lincoln and MKZ propose brand reinvention

Mon, 03 Dec 2012

Lincoln made a rather assertive statement about the future of its products at the 2012 LA Auto Show. Rather than put any new vehicle on display for the first press day, the American premium brand placed a collection of classic cars from its past on the show floor. For the second day, that assortment was replaced with more than a half-dozen examples of the all-new 2013 MKZ. Following that, Lincoln teased a new ad campaign that was in the works, and it appears we now have the first extended promotional video.
Entitled "The Lincoln Motor Company," the spot acts as more of a mission statement, rather than an ad, featuring (once again) cars from Lincoln's past, as well as certain bits of Americana usually reserved for a Levi's ad. The video concluded with Lincoln reintroducing itself to the world, accompanied by a new name: The Lincoln Motor Company.
The video is likely to be the first of many in a large advertising blitz by the automaker, in concert with the rolling-out of the new MKZ. The sedan was the only new vehicle featured in the video, and Lincoln is betting heavily on this "reinvention" to bring customers in to see its new sedan. We want to know what's next. Scroll down to watch the video.
