Up for sale is this beautiful 2001 Lincoln LS. The exterior of this Lincoln is in excellent shape. The body is straight, free from any dents and the paint has a beautiful finish. The interior is also in fine shape. The leather seats are near perfect as is the rugs, dash, door panels and headliner. Mechanically, this LS is perfect. The odometer reads 143,000 miles, but there is a factory rebuilt transmission that shifts perfectly and the engine was replaced with one having 82,000 miles. The engine runs as new and all fluids and maintainence has been performed. All power options work as they should and this Lincoln looks, runs and drives like new!! There are 4 new matching Michelins mounted on the factory aluminum wheels. I have a clear title, two keys with remotes and all the books. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Is Lincoln MKC cutting into Cadillac SRX sales?
Tue, 07 Oct 2014The two big American luxury brands of Cadillac and Lincoln are on surprisingly similar paths at the moment with both divisions hoping to redefine themselves and grow popularity. They're still early in the process with no clear winner yet, but things might actually be looking up for Lincoln's latest model, according to a monthly sales analysis from The Motley Fool. It seems, at least early on, that the new MKC crossover might be taking a bite out of the Cadillac SRX's growth.
The MKC launched just a few months ago and has been getting a big marketing push from a series of oft-mocked ads starring the smooth-talking Matthew McConaughey. The luxury CUV has been the popular, new kid on the block with growing sales since its introduction. While smaller than the SRX, the Lincoln starts at a lower price and offers better fuel economy.
Through June, the SRX performed well with sales up over 20 percent on average through June, according to The Motley Fool. However, July and August saw things plummet with year-over-year drops of 7 percent and 37 percent, respectively. It still far outsold the MKC in terms of actual units in a given month, but the Caddy's continued growth has appeared to stagnate.
Lincoln poised to double MKZ Hybrid production
Thu, 18 Jul 2013The Lincoln MKZ Hybrid has been something of a hit for Ford since the beginning, exceeding the company's modest projected 15-percent take rate for more than two years (we say "modest" because that still means an overwhelming majority of Lincoln customers are passing up on the gas-electric powertrain even though it costs the same as the standard model). Either way, Lincoln builds 700 MKZ Hybrids at its plant in Mexico each month, but has sold 715 of them in each of the past three months. That's why, according to a report in The Detroit News, when the restyled 2014 MKZ Hybrid arrives (non-hybrid pictured), Ford is doubling production compared to 2013. Instead of the hybrid model being 20 percent of production, the new hybrid will make up 40 percent.
Ford is doing well with hybrids in general - its portion of the electrified vehicle segment jumping 12 points in a single year to 16 percent. Assuming Ford doesn't change the pricing strategy (along with the changes Ford is making to calibration to improve fuel economy), the sedan could continue to "[show] other luxury hybrids how it's done" when it goes on sale later this year.
