2002 Lincoln LS 2002 Lincoln LS, 4-door, black in color, a result of a subsequent forfeiture. This vehicle is a 2002 Lincoln LS, 4-door, with the odometer showing 156,068 miles, however, we have no way of knowing its accuracy. This vehicle has a 3.0 liter v6 engine. This vehicle is equipped with power mirrors, power locks, power windows, cruise control, and air conditioning, however, the air conditioning does not work. This vehicle looks to be in fairly good shape with miscellaneous scrapes and scratches and seems fairly clean. Both rear fender panels are dented, there are some scratches, some rust starting, and the windshield is broken. The check engine light is also on. The passenger fog light and dash board vent are missing. The tires are custom black wheels and are less than half worn. The vehicle was last started and driven on 6-26-2014. The past maintenance and repair history of this vehicle is unknown and it is being sold as is. This vehicle was seized in an investigation which resulted in the subsequent forfeiture from a DWI in May 2013. When the vehicle was confiscated, it was being driven on the public streets and mechanically running. The title is registered to the Alexandria Police Department, is cleared and ready for new owner transfer. PLEASE NOTE: This vehicle does not have current registration and there are no license plates on the vehicle. It's ironic that Cadillac and Lincoln got new bosses within days of each other this month. It's also a commentary on the fact both of America's domestic luxury brands seem to be stuck in neutral.
Ex-GM VP LaNeve takes over Lincoln ad agency
Wed, 10 Apr 2013Those of you that caught yesterday's op-ed about Lincoln will have heard already, but Mark LaNeve has taken the helm at Team Detroit. Once the North American vice president of sales, service and marketing for General Motors, LaNeve will now head up the agency that handles all of Ford advertising. LaNeve will also run the account for Lincoln. While at GM from 2001 to 2009, the exec oversaw ad campaigns like Cadillac's Breakthrough and sales initiatives like "Employee Pricing for Everyone."
He left in 2009 to join Allstate as chief marketing officer, oversaw the creation of the Mayhem ad spots and was moved into the role of VP of agency operations overseeing Allstate's 10,000 agents. He resigned from the insurer in February 2012 for personal reasons and joined Team Detroit in August 2012 as chief operating officer, in charge of satellite offices in New York and internationally. He replaces ex-CEO Cameron McNaughton, and will continue to hold the title of COO.
Lincoln is trying to get its 2013 back to rights after putting big dollar commercials for the 2013 MKZ on television then having production glitches preventing cars from getting to dealerships. With rumors of a relaunch in the works, it's no surprise LaNeve has been given the reins - and from here it looks like the brand is desperate for the kind of magic he's proved he can marshal. Perhaps he can start by calling a mulligan on the renaming exercise that gave us the hoary "Lincoln Motor Company" and go back to oh, say, "Lincoln." Then he can ask the product folks to get to work on the MKC concept...
2015 Ford F-150 named Truck of Texas, Lincoln and Jeep also awarded at Truck Rodeo
Tue, 14 Oct 2014The Ford Motor Company has a lot of reasons to celebrate after winning eight categories in this year's Texas Auto Writers Association's annual Truck Rodeo. Most important among them, the Blue Oval's latest 2015 Ford F-150 earned the prestigious Truck of Texas award, ending the Ram 1500's two-year winning streak. The 2015 Lincoln MKC also grabbed the honor as the CUV of Texas, and Ford was named Truck Line of Texas.
FoMoCo even took trophies for best technology with its extensive use of aluminum on its latest F-Series and best commercial vehicle for the new Transit 250. It wasn't a total sweep, though, because the Jeep Grand Cherokee grabbed the title of the SUV of Texas for the fifth straight time.
This year's event put 60 auto writers in 75 pickups, SUVs and crossovers and challenged them to find the best in a plethora of categories. All of the winners are listed below, and scroll down to read the full announcements from the Texas Auto Writers Association and Ford.
