Up for sale is this immaculate 2010 Lincoln MKZ sedan.  This vehicle has 62,369 miles and looks, runs and drives absolutely perfect.  This is a one owner vehicle with no accident history on the Car-fax report. Unfortunately, this vehicle was involved in a fresh water flood that hit the state of New Jersey back in August of 2013, and is being sold with a New Jersey salvage title.  This was a very low level flood with absolutely no water entering the passenger compartment or damaging the engine , transmission or any other external components. Our staff of trained mechanics have checked this car from top to bottom and road tested it for over 100 miles.  The 3.5 ltr 24 valve V-6 Duratec engine runs like new and the 6-speed automatic transmission shifts perfectly.  The exterior color is Sterling Gray Metallic and shines like glass with no door dings or scratches and has never been repainted, including the bumpers.  The Interior color is light gray and is as perfect as the exterior with absolutely no signs of wear on the beautiful leather seats.  The door panels, dashboard, carpet and headliner are perfect as well with no tears or blemishes.  This MKZ is loaded with every available Lincoln option, including factory power moon roof, xenon headlamps, rain sensing wipers, ambient lighting, rear view video camera, sync-voice activated navigation system and technology package, blis with cross traffic blind spot alert system, sirius satellite radio, in dash 6-disk cd changer/mp3, 10 way power heated and cooled front seats with power lumbar and drivers side memory, reverse sensing system, traction control, tire pressure monitoring system, dual zone climate control A/C, power windows, power door locks, power heated side mirrors, remote keyless entry system, factory security system, home link system, illuminated vanity mirrors, fog lamps, intermittent wipers, tilt and telescopic steering column, factory carpeted floor mats with a second set of factory rubber winter floor mats as well, 4-wheel disc anti-lock brakes, dual stage front air bags, side air bags and side curtain air bags, split fold down rear seat, dual exhaust with chrome tips, factory chrome wheels with 4 almost new Michelin tires, plus much, much more.  Every option and feature in this car is working perfectly, the way it should, including ice cold A/C (See video). You can tell this was a well maintained vehicle by its former owner with all service up to date.  The trunk compartment is perfect as well including spare, jack and tools. The windshield is free of any cracks, chips or blemishes.  A fresh oil and Motorcraft filter service was just completed including air filter and new wiper blades.  The option package on this MKZ totals almost $6000.00 not including the chrome wheels.  (See photo of original window sticker).  I have all the owners manuals still in their case, 2 factory keys with fobs, the original window sticker totaling almost $41,000.00 and a bottle of factory touch up paint.  This car is being sold AS IS Where IS, and there is NO WARANTEES EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED.  This vehicle is being sold with a New Jersy Salvage title.  It is the buyers responsibility to know the laws and requirements for registering a salvage vehicle in their state.  If you would like see the car and test drive it you are more than welcome to do so.  Also feel free to ask me about the Buy-it-Now price. I can be reached at 917-974-2451.  If you are located outside my local area, I will assist you any way possible in having the car shipped to you at your cost.  A $500 non-refundable deposit must be made within 24 hours on the auctions end.  The remaining balance must be paid in full by 3 days after closing of the auction unless other arrangements are discussed with me in advance.  If you do not have the funds secured please do not bid on this car.  Your time is valuable and so is mine. With that being said, feel free to E-mail me, call or text me at anytime if you have questions or concerns. My name is Vinny and I have 37 years experience in the automotive industry and in my professional opinion this is truely a beautiful car both mechaniclly and cosmetically.  If you are a New York resident I must collect NYS sales tax.  Thanks and Good Luck Bidding!

Ford recalling select Taurus, Explorer and Lincoln MKS models over fuel tanks

Sun, 31 Mar 2013

Ford is recalling certain 2012 Taurus, 2013 Explorer and 2012 Lincoln MKS models over fuel tank concerns. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, vehicles built between July 19, 2011 and March 15, 2012 may have been built with fuel tanks that have a "marginally sealed seam" on the side. Those seams may not provide the strength necessary to protect the tank from rupture during a collision. They may also leak. The recall covers a total of 3,037 vehicles. NHTSA says that leaked fuel, in the presence of an ignition source, could easily cause a fire.
Dealers will inspect the tanks and replace them as need be free of charge. Owners can expect to be notified once the campaign begins on or around April 22, 2013. You can read the full NHTSA recall notice below for more information.

MyFord Touch getting buttons and knobs back to counter criticisms

Mon, 17 Jun 2013

Ford deserves credit for being a front-runner in offering advanced infotainment technology with its Sync and MyFord Touch systems, but continued consumer complaints over its confusing touchscreen interface and capacitive controls has made the automaker relent. The Wall Street Journal reports that physical buttons and knobs for controlling tuning and volume will be coming back to Ford vehicles equipped with the controversial infotainment system.
The 2013 F-150 with MyFord Touch gives us a glimpse of what the new layout with buttons and knobs might look like, as Ford says a similar balance of touch screen capability and buttons/knobs are what's being planned for future models. And, while capacitive controls have no fans in the halls of Autoblog, many of Ford's models with MyFord Touch do have a large physical knob for adjusting volume with integrated buttons for tuning and advancing tracks, though most of those are models with the optional upgraded Sony Audio system. Lincoln models with MyLincoln Touch, however, feature only capacitive controls for all stereo and climate functions.
Despite receiving enough complaints to throw buttons and knobs back into the mix (a move that reminds us of BMW's iDrive trajectory, among others), Ford reports that Sync and MyFord Touch have still been sold on 79 percent of its 2013 model year vehicles, a number it claims is double the rate that Honda and Toyota are getting for their infotainment systems. Ford also states that owners who do opt for the duo of technologies are more satisfied with overall vehicle quality than those who don't have it.

Why Lincoln says it's loving Ellen and Conan MKC ad spoofs [w/videos]

Mon, 13 Oct 2014

You would think that commercial being ridiculed across the Internet would be an advertising executive's worst nightmare, but that's not necessarily the case. At least not when it comes to Lincoln and its latest campaign to promote the new MKC.
The campaign features Matthew McConaughey channeling his characters from True Detective and The Lincoln Lawyer, and was quickly spoofed by both Conan O'Brien and Ellen DeGeneres. But instead of shaking their heads in dismay at the comedy talk-show hosts' take on their ad, Lincoln and its advertising firm Hudson Rouge welcome the free publicity.
"We're flattered. Just to get out into the public mind with parodies says you've achieved a certain amount of notoriety," Hudson Rouge CCO Jon Pearce told Automotive News. "It's hard to put a dollar amount on earned media. We couldn't ask for better."
