1969 Lincoln Mark Iii Base 7.5l on 2040-cars
Saint Petersburg, Florida, United States
Up for sale is a rare, 1969 Lincoln Contential Mark III. This car was built in April of 1968 as a 1969 model. Quite expensive back then as they were the choice for wealthly businessmen, actors and performers like Johny Cash. This car was painted back to the originial color a few years ago. Paint still looks good. The vinial top was replaced with the corect pattern and still looks good. The interior fron seats are on good contition with no tears or rips. The rear seat does have about an eight inch leather piece that has cracked due to the heat. Carpet and headliner are in good condition. All glass is fine and have marks on them. The engine starts, runs and drives fine. The fuel tank is off the car. It will need to be cleaned, and a new sending unit will need to be installed. Ebay sells these. The alt may not be hooked up corrected as it was rebuilt. It seems that the alt does not charge the battery as it should. Just recheck connection. The AC has been converted to R134 and did blow cold. The headlight doors stay open, but once car is running, can be closed by hand and the doors will stay closed. Chrome and moulding are good. The lens could be improved up and are readly available. This car would make a good father son project that will need a little TLC but shouldn't brake the bank. These cars made good drivers and will go up in value in the years to come. The car currently runs on a gas jug located in the trunk. I tried to describle the car as fair as posible. |

Would a Mustang-based Lincoln look like this?
Mon, 07 Jan 2013Designer Josiah LaCalla has taken a stab at what a Ford Mustang-based Lincoln model might look like with the Continental Mark X1 concept. Make no mistake, Ford's luxury arm has made it abundantly clear that it won't be pursuing any new products outside of volume models, which means a flashy halo grand tourer like the one you see here isn't in the cards. LaColla used the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG as a basis for his creation, which explains the long nose, but we certainly don't mind the idea of a rear-wheel drive Lincoln with a cabin pushed to the aft.
While we're dreaming, there's certainly nothing stopping us from imagining what's under that lengthy hood. We like the idea of the 5.8-liter supercharged V8 from the Shelby GT500 pushing the Mark X1 down the road, but how about something a little more inventive? Something like a high-revving, buttery V12 with enough torque to push the contraption well past 200 miles per hour. Dream a little dream, people.
NHTSA will investigate some Ford Fusion, Lincoln MKZ models for power steering issue
Tue, 07 Oct 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is opening an investigation into the 2010-2012 Ford Fusion, Fusion Hybrid and Lincoln MKZ, the 2012 MKZ Hybrid and 2011 Mercury Milan because the agency has hundreds of complaints of electric power steering failure in these models.
According to NHTSA's data, it has received 508 complaints of the power steering allegedly suddenly malfunctioning and resulting in increased effort to turn the wheel. In four incidents, these failures resulted in loss of control and crashes. According to the reports, in some cases a power steering warning message came on as the fault occurred, and other times the system restored itself by turning off and then restarting the vehicle. NHTSA said it has also received further field report data from Ford, but that information hasn't been publicly released yet.
For the moment, there isn't a recall for this failure on these models. NHTSA is just investigating them to "assess the scope, frequency and safety consequences of the alleged defect," and the agency says an estimated 938,000 vehicles could potentially be affected.

Lincoln has finally given its SUV a facelift after seven long years.
Seven years is a long time. For the auto industry, though, seven years is an absolute eternity. Most vehicles receive clean-sheet redesigns within the span of seven years, usually getting a facelift of some sort after year three or four. Not Lincoln.
