Up for consideration is a 1988 Lincoln Mark VII . I am listing this car for my friends parents. They are the original owners of this car, which has only 43,528 original miles. This car is in very nice shape for it's age, but it is not perfect. It has been garage kept for almost all its life, with the exception of the last three years. The owners just don't use it any longer, but continue to pay for the insurance and registration, and inspections. For starters the car runs and drives great. Tires are in great shape and the battery is new. The car has a large scratch and small dent on the trunk lid, & the exhaust is a bit loud, sounds like there may be a hole starting to develop. The paint and interior of the car are in very nice condition, but need to be cleaned. All the paint is original with the exception of the right front fender, which I was told was painted back in the 90's. I had my 11yr old son wash and vacuum the car for the pictures. No detailing, waxing or cleaning was done to present it any better. This car comes with every option available on the Mark VII, including the rare digital dash. Folks this is a nice car, which can be seen anytime during the auction for inspection. The owners live a few blocks from me, and you are welcome to speak with them after looking at the car, to discuss any questions you might have that I cannot answer. You can even see the original window sticker, which they still have in a glass frame on the wall. I believe they also have a new set of original mats that go with the car. |

Ford recalling select Taurus, Explorer and Lincoln MKS models over fuel tanks
Sun, 31 Mar 2013Ford is recalling certain 2012 Taurus, 2013 Explorer and 2012 Lincoln MKS models over fuel tank concerns. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, vehicles built between July 19, 2011 and March 15, 2012 may have been built with fuel tanks that have a "marginally sealed seam" on the side. Those seams may not provide the strength necessary to protect the tank from rupture during a collision. They may also leak. The recall covers a total of 3,037 vehicles. NHTSA says that leaked fuel, in the presence of an ignition source, could easily cause a fire.
Dealers will inspect the tanks and replace them as need be free of charge. Owners can expect to be notified once the campaign begins on or around April 22, 2013. You can read the full NHTSA recall notice below for more information.
2015 Lincoln Navigator gets lots of updates, still not all-new [w/video]
Thu, 06 Feb 2014If there's one brand that could really use some fresh, all-new product, it's Lincoln. The MKC crossover is on the way and looks promising, but the just-revealed 2015 model year update of its fullsize Navigator would appear to stop somewhere short of being "all-new." This, despite replacing a product that's been on the market since 2007. Oh sure, there's a brash new face, complete with the company's love or hate split-wing grille, and the revised rear-end treatment does look better to our eyes (if overly familiar). But in the era of the bold new all-aluminum Ford F-150, the Navigator is still based on the outgoing model's all-steel bones, so it's more of an extensive mid-cycle refresh than a completely new piece.

That's a shame, really, because the class the Navigator is playing in features a host of really modern, stylish, luxurious crossovers and sport utilities like the Cadillac Escalade, Land Rover Range Rover, Mercedes-Benz GL-Class and more. Unlike the F-150, there's no aluminum suit on this black-tie bruiser, but that's not to say it isn't bringing some new tech to the table in 2015. Under the hood, for example, is Ford's well-received 3.5-liter, twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6, putting out "at least" 370 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. That's a solid engine, and should be a whole lot more spunky and efficient than the archaic 5.4-liter Triton V8 currently being employed in the outgoing model.
Ford issues six recalls covering 101,000 vehicles for multiple issues
Tue, 08 Jul 2014Ford is announcing six separate recalls for a variety of issues affecting a dozen models and a total of 100,610 vehicles in North America. However, according to Ford spokesperson Kelli Felker, "None of them have caused accidents or injuries." Half of them cover fewer than 1,000 cars.
The largest recall covers 92,022 North American examples (about 83,250 in the US) of some models of the Ford Taurus, Lincoln MKS, Ford Interceptor, Flex and Lincoln MKT from the 2013 and 2014 model years; the 2012-2014 Edge and the 2014 Lincoln MKX. All of them have a potential issue with the halfshaft on the right side that might not be fully seated and could move outward over time. If it shifts too far, the models may no longer be able to drive, and the condition could also allow the vehicles to roll away, even when in Park. Dealers will inspect the shaft to make sure it's seated and will replace the part if necessary.
The next-largest recall covers 5,264 North American examples (4,867 in the US) of the Ford F59 Commercial Stripped Chassis from the 2011-2014 model years. It's possible that an electrical junction box can corrode in areas with salty roads and short circuit. The problem could potentially cause a fire. Dealers will replace the box with an improved design.
