Lincoln Mark 7 Lsc 302 Ho Auto Trans on 2040-cars

Year:1988 Mileage:161100 Color: paint is original with the exception of the front end which was repainted at some point
Location:

Above average condition 1988 Lincoln Mark 7 LSC with 302 HO engine and Automatic transmission. Oxford White with Dark Blue leather interior. Original leather interior in above average condition with factory carpeting and headliner (Sale includes a set of floor mats). Factory JBL Audio System intact except for original head unit which was replaced with a Sony cassette deck that doesn’t work. Exterior paint is original with the exception of the front end which was repainted at some point. Paint on roof and deck lid thin in places as this is a single stage paint job. Some small door dings in deck lid and quarter panels but nothing major. Lower rocker accent color was recently repainted. No rust, no funky smells or cigarette reek or pet dander issues. Front fog lamps missing but all other hardware for these intact. Factory alloy wheels refinished and shod with four matching tires that have about 10K left. Power windows and mirrors all work. All weather stripping nice. New windshield and windshield wipers….wiper arms refinished. All molding around windows refinished where vinyl tape peels off over time. Original motor has never been part and recently passed California smog. New Air and oil filter, oil and spark plugs. Air cleaner silencer intake removed for better breathing. Newer alternator . Brand new radiator, hoses and coolant with complete system flush. No oil smoking, noises or engine warning light issues. Air ride system gone though and has newer Arnott bags at all four corners as well as a number of O-rings. ABS system extensively flushed and brand new accumulator installed. To be clear….NO Brake or Suspension warning light issues. Newer brake pads/shoes and strut/shocks at all four corners. Newer front ABS sensors. Air conditioning system just topped off with R12 and proper oil. Ignition switch replaced but key has not been cut to match original door pattern. Runs/ drives great, is reliable and would make an excellent daily driver. This vehicle is on the same platform as a Mustang of the same year (Fox body). The Trip Minder on these vehicles has an issue wherein it beeps on startup to warn you when the fuel level gets low. Over time the capacitors leak and it warns you even when the tank is mostly full. This car is no exception although it seems to do it intermittently of late. The unit can be sent out and repaired by a specialist –or- you can just hit the Reset button on startup and the beep is cancelled.

Lincoln MKC configurator comes alive

Tue, 21 Jan 2014

Lincoln has already announced most of the trim level and option pricing for its upcoming 2015 MKC due out this summer, and now it has launched a configurator allowing prospective buyers to get a better idea of how this new model will stack up against other compact luxury crossovers. We already knew that the MKC will have a starting price of $33,995, but now we know that its price includes a destination charge of $895.
Models equipped with the base 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine come standard with the Premiere package - $33,100 for front-wheel drive and $35,595 for all-wheel drive. Both models offer equipment upgrades from the Select and Reserve packages. The $3,230 Select package adds features like leather seats, power passenger seat, folding and heated door mirrors and painted 18-inch wheels, while the pricier $6,935 Reserve package adds in heated and cooled front seats, panoramic roof, hands-free liftgate, two-tone wheels and an embedded modem (providing features such as remote lock and unlock, vehicle finder and pre-conditioning).
Opting for the new 2.3-liter EcoBoost inline-four raises the base price to $39,965, and it comes standard with all-wheel drive and all of the equipment in the Select package; the Reserve package is still optional. All models can be further optioned up with the $2,235 Technology Package (adding adaptive cruise, active park assist and lane keeping system) and the $580 Climate Package (heated rear seats and steering wheel, auto high beams and rain-sensing wipers). Checking all the options, a fully loaded 2015 MKC with the 2.3-liter EcoBoost will have a total MSRP of $47,715.

Ford has announced five separate recalls, affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.
It's not been a great couple of weeks for Ford. On October 30, the company announced a 205,000-unit recall, and yesterday, it was revealed that the Ford brand's year-over-year sales were down over 5,000 units while the company itself was down 3,000 units over through October. Now, the company has announced five separate recalls affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.

How the demise of Lincoln's Town Car has kick-started a limo revolution

Sun, 30 Dec 2012

The deaths of the Ford Crown Victoria and the Lincoln Town Car have meant overhauls of three high-profile American fleets: police, taxi and livery car. Just as police fleets are more open to considering other options and a Nissan van is the new face of the NYC taxi, livery car companies are looking at replacements for the Town Car beyond The Blue Oval. Ford, via Lincoln, has made an MKT Town Car (pictured), but an article in the Detroit News claims "it has failed to win over most of the big limousine companies." The upstarts trying to move in include livery and limo editions of the Cadillac XTS, and livery specifications of the Toyota Avalon and Chrysler 300.
Each of those challengers, however, faces challenges. The Town Car was a workhorse, American, rear-wheel-drive sedan with plenty of rear legroom. Cadillac has been in the livery space before but with decontented models that were about selling the brand, not its luxury. It is taking the opposite approach with the XTS, pointing out that its livery edition is "contented in the upper half of the XTS range." Still, the CEO of Michigan's largest livery company says "it's quite a bit smaller than what we're used to," and he also prefers rear-wheel drive.
The Chrysler 300 is rear-wheel drive, and American, which matters to some companies, but Chrysler hasn't yet revealed the livery package for it. The livery Avalon marks Toyota's first time getting into that business in the US, a natural step after having done so well with taxi clients and with the Town Car out of the way. Still, the livery client is a different to taxi buyers, so the Avalon could face other soft-touch hurdles.
