1988 Lincoln Town Car
54,138 Original miles
ONE OWNER 1988-February 2012
This is one of the nicest most solid Lincolns I have seen in a long time.
I have four 1988, 1989 Lincolns and I have been driving this one daily.
While this car is not perfect it is a very solid good running car.
I will do my best to list all the information about this car.
I have pictures of the car new and the window sticker for the car.
Also a letter from the original owner about the car and also repair receipts.
It has a current registration for California.
The original owner was a school teacher and drove the car very little.
That last service was in 2007 for the following:
Full tune up, fuel filter, plug wires, dist cap, brakes, wheel cylinders,
new exhaust from cat coverters back. (see picture)
Total of $1,073.52 spent.
Mileage at the time was 52,990
Car was not used much after that.
Below is a link to see the Town Car start and run
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtJSkTlPDY8&feature=plcp
This car runs beautiful!
Has good tires and tracks straight going down the road, No squeeks or rattles at all.
Doors all shut tight and solid. Windows all work as does radio and antenna. Lights all in working order in and out of the car including trunk light.
Trunk is clean and dry and has no stains or issues. Spare and jack equipment all there.
Engine compartment as you can see is dusty but I did not try to clean it up. The engine and compartment is the way the car came when I bought it.
No engine leaks and no fluids on the garage floor.
Car runs quiet and solid.
I have both sets of original keys
Car has a new battery (3/12)
NOW THE THINGS THAT NEED ATTENTION:
You can see in one of the pictures that the clear coat on the drivers side of the hood has gone bad. While it does not look terrible the hood would look better if painted.
The transmission O/D is not working properly.
A/C is not blowing cold, but the sytems is still intact and the compressor does operate when I jump wired it. (Just has low or no freon)
I am going to see if the car sells in this auction and if not I will do the repairs and relist the car for sale.

Lincoln MKC prototype caught partially covered, reveals some changes
Tue, 14 May 2013When Lincoln pulled the wraps off the MKC Concept at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year, we said that the very attractive concept was going to closely mirror the production vehicle. With few exceptions, a clad prototype recently caught running on public roads seems to substantiate our statement.
From what the pictures reveal, the disguised Lincoln MKC production mule and show concept seem to share the same waistline with identical sculpting over the wheels. The midsection of the two also appear to match with the same flare and styling. The lower rockers have been cleaned up a bit, mainly to be more practical in the real world (the deep chisels on the show car would have collected mud and snow).
Taking a look at the exposed front bumper, we see a very similar lower fascia complete wtih the metal skid plate on the chin. The window profile also seems to match the concept, though we're still unclear exactly how that C- and D-pillar section is going to look. Of course, and it always seems to be the case when concepts evolve into production vehicles, the MKC gains four normal door handles, standard-sized mirrors and a slightly smaller wheel/tire package. We expect the production version of the Lincoln MKC to debut later this year.
Lincoln MKC spied in final form
Mon, 14 Oct 2013When the Lincoln MKC Concept debuted back in January, it received fairly positive feedback from both Autoblog editors and readers alike, and this bodes well for the production version of the luxury crossover judging by these latest spy shots. Reader Ivan Lo captured a few pictures of some MKC prototypes driving around with minimal camouflage, which gives us our best look yet at the design of this new Escape-based Lincoln.
Based on the spy shots from back in May, we already knew that the production MKC would sport some real door handles, a little side cladding and bigger door mirrors, but these latest shots also show us that the rear quarter windows have been enlarged and the integrated dual exhaust outlets have been replaced by round pipes. This means that the MKC will retain the concept's narrow headlights and what is arguably Lincoln's best execution of its split-wing grille. Even better, the rear view confirms the stylish horizontal taillights will remain intact, as well as the Audi-like wraparound liftgate. Since the entire taillight assembly rises along with the liftgate, redundant lights were also added into the rear fascia.
Unfortunately, the low angle of these spy shots leaves us without a view of the interior, but based on its looks alone, the MKC is shaping up to be a promising vehicle for a brand that so badly needs some fresh metal.
Is Lincoln MKC cutting into Cadillac SRX sales?
Tue, 07 Oct 2014The two big American luxury brands of Cadillac and Lincoln are on surprisingly similar paths at the moment with both divisions hoping to redefine themselves and grow popularity. They're still early in the process with no clear winner yet, but things might actually be looking up for Lincoln's latest model, according to a monthly sales analysis from The Motley Fool. It seems, at least early on, that the new MKC crossover might be taking a bite out of the Cadillac SRX's growth.
The MKC launched just a few months ago and has been getting a big marketing push from a series of oft-mocked ads starring the smooth-talking Matthew McConaughey. The luxury CUV has been the popular, new kid on the block with growing sales since its introduction. While smaller than the SRX, the Lincoln starts at a lower price and offers better fuel economy.
Through June, the SRX performed well with sales up over 20 percent on average through June, according to The Motley Fool. However, July and August saw things plummet with year-over-year drops of 7 percent and 37 percent, respectively. It still far outsold the MKC in terms of actual units in a given month, but the Caddy's continued growth has appeared to stagnate.
