I Love this car and am sad to have to let it go. She has a strong engine and is so smooth to drive with the the rear air suspension working great. I have tried to make repairs as needed but I can't any longer. She will need the steering and lighting fixed to be safely operational though I am still able to drive her. Many electrical issues are popping up but could be easy fixes for someone with the skills, such as the HID Headlight, turn signals, horn, cruise control aren't functioning. The rear window defrost / radio antenna need to be connected. The heated seats will not stay on. The steering wheel has the audio/cruise/climate controls but Volume and Temp buttons are missing (I just stick my finger in to adjust, or you can reach over to the radio or AC), can be replaced easily. The drivers side exhaust manifold is rusted and has a leak by the rear cylinder, will need to have two bolts re-tapped. Catalytic, exhaust lines and mufflers are in good shape. The body could use some work, dent above drives front tire, drivers rear quarter has dents and is starting to rust below the fuel fill. Rear bumper is scratched and dinged. Right rear corner chrome trim needs to be replaced (missing). The drivers mirror is cracked (I have mirror glass to glue on, or whole unit can be replaced). She has new brakes, rear air suspension was serviced and repaired in the summer. New A/C expansion tank and is charged and working well. The engine runs wonderfully and is a blast to drive. Stereo sounds awesome, has Alpine Lincoln upgraded system. Every seat in this car is comfortable and she floats like a dream at any speed. I have all of the original keys and fobs, the original manuals and the leather case for them. The original window sticker comes with her. These Town Cars are the best and they no longer make them, this is worth buying and fixing up if you can. I have tried to disclose all information, I have owned her for 9 years and am the 2nd owner. I am a private person and offer no warranty or guaranty. Perfect for someone who can do the work, or has a friend. Good Luck to you and happy bidding.

Mulally wanted to kill Lincoln as late as last year, Fields vows to turn it around

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

Lincoln fans might want to give incoming Ford CEO Mark Fields a pat on the back for having a hand in saving the brand from the chopping block last year. He's among the people spearheading the rejuvenation of the division away from its stodgy image to appeal to younger customers.
According to two unnamed sources speaking to Bloomberg, CEO Alan Mulally was ready to kill Lincoln last year. Following the slow production ramp-up of the MKZ combined a with a costly ad campaign, Mulally was frustrated and openly suggested dropping the brand. However, Fields and Jim Farley, Ford's marketing boss, convinced the CEO that the brand was worth saving. They also created a plan to prevent similar problems for new models in the future.
It seems that one part of the strategy may involve waiting until new models are at dealers before starting a big ad campaign for them. Lincoln global director, Matt VanDyke, recently told Autoblog that the division is holding off on a full marketing push behind the new MKC crossover to prevent the supply problems that plagued the MKZ last year. Its big offensive begins in the fall when the CUVs are at all of the dealers and consumers are at home watching more TV. VanDyke also told Bloomberg that Fields, Farley and Joe Hinrichs, Ford president of the Americas, have more direct oversight over new product launches now.

Lincoln trumpets $129M investment, 300 new jobs in Louisville for MKC

Tue, 26 Aug 2014

Remember when we used to talk about how close Lincoln was to being axed and how it seemed any day now the Grim Reaper would use it as a car service back to the grave? Last time we did it was, oh, not even a month ago. What a difference 27 days makes: Ford and Lincoln are trumpeting a $129M investment in the Louisville Assembly Plant that builds the MKC.
In July the MKC was the third-best-selling Lincoln of the brand's six offerings, beat by the MKZ and - by a much smaller margin - the MKX. It has sold 2,895 units in the two months it's been on sale, which is more than half the year-to-date sales of the MKS, MKT and Navigator. It's already important, is what we're trying to say, and this is before the Chinese market gets a crack at it later this year.
The money headed to Kentucky will be joined by 300 new workers, another marker in Ford's march to create 12,000 hourly jobs in the US by next year. You can read more about it in the press release below.

Report: Lincoln getting all of Mercury's ad dollars

Mon, 03 Jan 2011

Now that the curtain has closed on Mercury, Ford Motor Company will redirect all of its marketing dollars for the oft-overlooked brand to the Blue Oval's luxury outpost, Lincoln. In speaking to Automotive News, the chairman of the Lincoln National Dealer Council, Bob Tasca, Jr., said, "You'll see a lot stronger presence in the advertising of Lincoln in 2011."
Lincoln spokesperson Christian Bokich reminded AN that the automaker is "preparing the way for seven new or significantly refreshed vehicles" that will be launched over the next four years, and the largest ad blitz in 2011 will focus on the refreshed MKX crossover, as well as the MKZ sedan and its hybrid counterpart. Following that, Lincoln has plans to launch a completely overhauled version of its Navigator SUV, an all-new C-segment vehicle and the overhauled 2013 MKZ, which Tasca says will be "strikingly different from its Ford Fusion sibling."
