The 2007 Lincoln Towncar L‘Series was purchase brand new in 2007. Since that time it has been garage kept, washed daily, detailed monthly and maintained by a staff of two full time mechanics. It was part of a fleet of multiple vehicles and at this point we are updating the fleet and looking to sale this one.

Model Overview

The 2007 Town Car remains Lincoln's entry into the luxury sedan segment. Accordingly, it is very well equipped with power leather seating, cornering lamps, automatic headlamps, heated exterior mirrors with a left-hand auto-dimming feature, power adjustable pedals, dual-zone climate control, and an electrochromic rearview mirror.Standard safety items include traction control, anti-lock disc brakes, rear park assist, and side air bags.Underneath the Town Car you'll find a fully boxed, hydroformed steel frame that provides a stiff platform. This allows the engineers to tune the suspension for a remarkably comfortable ride. You'll also find rack and pinion steering that adds a delightful sharpness to the Town Car's reflexes.The Town Car comes equipped with only one powertrain. You get the 4.6L V8 engine, rated at 239 horsepower and 287 lb-ft of torque. It is coupled with a smooth-shifting four-speed automatic transmission that sends the power to the rear wheels. You'd be hard pressed to find another four-door sedan that can match the Town Car's 21 cubic feet of trunk space.Stepping up from the base Signature trim to the Signature Limited, you get heated front seats, interior wood trim, an enhanced sound system, remote opening and closing for the trunk, and a memory feature for the pedals, driver's seat, and exterior mirrors. The designer Series adds on fog lamps, and chrome exterior trim, among other items.The Town Car Signature L has a stretched wheelbase, allowing for six more inches of rear leg room. This increased rear seat space is garnished with heated rear seats, and rear audio and climate controls, transforming the vehicle into something just short of a private limousine.Options include FlexFuel capability, high-intensity discharge headlamps, a six-disc CD changer, and a moonroof. J Mays retiring from Ford design, succeeded by Moray Callum

Ford's highly influential head of design, J Mays, has announced that he'll be retiring from his position after 33 years in the industry, 16 of which were at the Dearborn, MI-based company. Upon departure, he'll be succeeded as group vice president of design by Moray Callum. If that last name sounds familiar, yes, he's the brother of Jaguar's Ian Callum.
It's difficult to explain just how big of a role Mays had on not just Ford's design over the years, but on the entire industry. Before heading to Dearborn, Mays worked for Audi, BMW and then Volkswagen, where he was involved in concept cars that paved the way for design icons like the first-generation Audi TT and the Volkswagen New Beetle. As for his Ford resume, it's extensive.
Mays joined the company in 1997 as design director for Ford, Lincoln, Mercury and Mazda, as well as the Premier Automotive Group (Volvo, Land Rover, Jaguar and Aston Martin). He was heavily involved in the Ford Fusion, Focus, Fiesta, Taurus, F-150 and Mustang, while also contributing to concept cars like the Atlas, Evos, 427, Forty-Nine, Shelby GR-1, Lincoln MKZ and the MKC.

One of the perks of reviewing all manner of cars and trucks is that we're exposed to all the different infotainment systems. Whether Cadillac's CUE, Chrysler's UConnect, BMW's iDrive or MyFord Touch, we sample each and every infotainment system on the market.
Not surprisingly, some are better than others. It seems consumers have come to a similar consensus, with Consumer Reports claiming that Ford and Lincoln, Cadillac and Honda offer the worst user infotainment experiences. Not surprisingly, you won't find much argument among the Autoblog staff.
