1962 MGA Mk II Deluxe Roadster

Unlike the 1500 and 1600 models, the 1600 Mk II has distinct features that make it easily recognizable.
The Mk II (and Mk II Deluxe) has a recessed front grill, as well as horizontal rear tail lights mounted below the boot opening. (It also has a 1622cc engine, and a 4:1 rear axle, fitted originally).
The Deluxe is distinguishable in that it features disc brakes all round and special steel wheels.

In 1962 there were 290 1600 Mk II Deluxe roadsters built. Of these Mark II Deluxe roadsters 242 were North American export cars. (this is the car I am selling, Eric)

I bought the car in 1969; in 1982 I got a replacement title (shown). It was partially restored in the 70’s, then was stored in various garages up on blocks while I was away at school, for the last 14 years it has been covered with a tarp outdoors, it is parked on gravel that got muddy and grew some grass over the years. The last time I drove it was 12 years ago.

As you can see by the photos shown, I didn't clean the debris off the vehicle or wash the mud splashes on the bottom sides from the heavy rains, I just took pictures.

I have more parts, like the steering wheel emblem, mounting bolts for the soft-top up in the garage, but can’t get at them now as I’m in a wheelchair for a bit. I don’t think I have the original luggage rack though you can see the trunk mounts for the rack in the boot photo. I do have the heater cover and all the original side curtains with mounting parts, newer side curtains, an extra hood and all the interior panels. The worst damage is shown on the right front fender photo. One very cold winter day someone dropped a ladder on the fender. There is a shallow dent and the lacquer paint shattered, the rust is surface. The windshield has a small stone crack and an animal apparently chewed the leather on the lower side of the driver’s seat.

The vehicle is basically solid (no rust-through anywhere); it would make a valuable project for someone as there were so few of these 1962 MGA 1600 Mk II Deluxe models made.

I live in Northern Wisconsin about 3 hours North of Madison.
