If you are seeking a super solid original example of the early metal dash MGB, and don't mind repairing a little scaly floor sheet metal, then read on, as I believe in full disclosure. This car was discovered in Northern Alabama in storage by a car hobbyist, who acquired the car many years ago. I bought it from him a year or more ago because of its solid rust-free condition, and because it appears to have much of its original paint, so I could see what I was getting. Some water had penetrated the old convertible top and caused rust to form on the floorboards, but I cannot find rust anywhere else, and the underside, as well as the usual places like rockers, dog legs, and front fenders are very solid as you can see in the pictures, as they still wear the decades old paint coat.

I have represented it with photos for what it is, a restorable car with its original red leather seats in shambles, needing a top, and the mechanical bits like brake and clutch hydraulic cylinders, and carburetor rebuild, as is typical with one that has been sitting. The engine is not locked, as it turns freely by hand. I started tinkering with it but have not had time to move ahead. Some of the carb parts are loose and the oil filter has been unbolted for changing oil. I do not know anything more about the cars mechanical condition, but it shows 69K miles and from its appearance, it is probably actual. The car has a few dents along with some old peace stickers, which are rather nostalgic for the era! One picture shows a sheriff's sticker dated 1972, which may be the last time the car was on the road. Looks like it could easily be gotten running with some tinkering and wouldn't it be fun to drive around as is! I will leave that up to the new buyer, and don't of course offer any certainty about its mechanicals but it does look all original! The ignition switch can easily be removed and taken to a lock shop where a key will need to be made, but that is very inexpensive. I replaced three of the tires with good radials of proper size, which I found at a local British car shop but since he only had three, the fourth one holds air but is dry rotted.

As it is from Alabama, which is a non-title state for older vehicles, I only received a bill of sale from the owner, which is how I will convey it to the winning bidder. Most state vehicle registration departments recognize Alabama's no title status and have provisions for that, but you should check on that yourself, as there is NO TITLE, although I did mark that it is clear as there was not a choice stating the situation on eBay's information choices. Repeat, I will not be registering the car or providing a title with the car, only a bill of sale.

You'll be in the car right because my reserve is low, and can invest the funds to restore it because you will note that the values of these older MG's with the metal dash in particular have skyrocketed, and nice ones are fetching in the $20K++ range!

There are no warranties provided with the car, and I will answer any questions as honestly as possible with my limited knowledge, but you should come view the car if you can as it is difficult to describe every aspect of an old vehicle. All sales are final, and a non-refundable deposit is required in 24 hours. No games please, only serious bidders!

No real bids yet, but 60 people watching the auction so far after only 24 hours!  Questions regarding parts...No I did not get the hub caps with the car. Yes it does include a tonneau cover, two in fact came with it, one in black and one which I think is the original red one, but it is work and needs zippers. Yes, I do have the chrome trim pieces for the sides of the fenders, or at least most of them, but they are not perfect. The top frame is a collapsible frame that I purposely left in the up but folded position, to show it was present, since I installed the top "boot" which normally would cover the frame when collapsed. I removed and disposed of the old canvas top, but have the car covered with a tarp and car cover.

Yes, I may be open to offers to end the auction early, but it should be a serious offer. Send a number and I can get back with you. I have not decided on a Buy Now price yet, but open.
