The La Grange, Illinois (Cook County) Police Department is offering the following vehicle for sale by auction: White 1996 Mazda MPV DX Standard Passenger Van 3-Door 3.0L with a mileage of 168,346 miles This is a seized/forfeited vehicle and MUST be sold according to Illinois law; it MUST be sold in an auction-style setting such as eBay. There is no Buy-It-Now option. We will NOT accept any trades for this vehicle. The vehicle is being sold AS IS and with NO warranty, neither express nor implied. The vehicle will be sold to the highest bidder after the starting price has been satisfied. here is NO reserve on this vehicle! The vehicle (again) has 168,346 miles. The vehicle is white with a gray cloth interior in fair to good condition. The interior of the vehicle, however, will need to be cleaned. The vehicle has front, middle, and back-row seating. The vehicle has a roof rack. All lights, lamps, signals, fan, horn, power door locks, front & rear wipers are in working order. The vehicle has power windows; the driver's side power windows operate, however, the front passenger side power window does not work (possibly the motor). The vehicle has cruise control-unknown if working-we did not try it. The vehicle has an AM/FM stereo with cassette player-unknown if working-we did not try it. All interior lighting appears to be working. The power mirrors are in working order. Lastly, the vehicle has a Class 3 hitch. The vehicle has extensive crash damage to the passenger-side extending from the front to the back doors. The opening was "sealed up" with tape by the last owner. The vehicle, however, drove fine when it was placed in storage in July 2013. We have not run the vehicle since. There is crash damage to the driver's-side (D/S) front wheel well, quarter, and below the headlight. The front bumper has small cracks and paint chipping. The passenger-side (P/S) front quarter has some damage below the headlight. There is some damage to the P/S front wheel well. The P/S front tire is missing the center hub cap. The rear bumper has some paint chipping. There is a small dent in the rear hatchback door-upper door, which does not affect it's operation. Lastly, the two rear tires have slow leaks. Honda, Nissan and Mazda recalling 3 million vehicles for airbag inflators
Mon, 23 Jun 2014Three million more vehicles can be added to the worldwide tally to be repaired for the faulty airbag inflators supplied by Takata. Honda, Nissan, and Mazda have all issued recalls to replace the bad part, including about 1.2 million of them in North America. NHTSA has been investigating all three companies, plus Chrysler and Toyota, for potentially affected vehicles.
Honda is recalling roughly 1.02 million Civic, CR-V, Odyssey and Element models In North America, built between April 2000 and October 2002. Mazda needs to repair 14,794 units of the RX-8 and Mazda6, and Nissan has 228,000 vehicles in North America to be fixed.
Chrysler is also starting what it calls a "regional field action" to replace the inflators in the 2006 Dodge Charger, according to a company spokesperson. The company says that it has not yet found the problem in any of its vehicles, but it's being done "out of an abundance of caution." The final number of Chargers affected will be announced later this week.
2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata in motion for the first time
Fri, 05 Sep 2014By now, you've already poured over the details (however few there may be) and images of the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata. For us enthusiasts, it's arguably the most important new car debut of the year, and for Mazda, it marks the 25th anniversary of its iconic roadster - something that's being celebrated all weekend long out in Monterey, CA.
Our resident Miata owner, Chris Paukert, is out in sunny California and just passed along this video, showing all four generations of the MX-5 in motion (slowly), on the road at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. This is the first time the 2016 MX-5 has been shown driving under its own power, and it will join a wealth of other roadsters as Mazda attempts to break the world record for most Miatas in one place at one time.

Mazda's new Mexican plant capacity rises to 230,000
Sat, 05 Jan 2013After the turmoil of last year, 2013 is getting off to a much better start for Mazda. The company has issued a release indicating that the forthcoming plant in Salamanca, Mexico has had its production capacity raised even though it isn't scheduled to go online until March 2014. The original plans called for a 140,000-unit capacity, 90,000 of that allotted for the Mazda2 and Mazda3, the remaining 50,000 for a small car Mazda would build for Toyota that would be based on the Mazda2. The new plans call for raising that by 90,000 units to a total of 230,000 units within two years, by the end of March 2016, and it looks like it will all go toward Mazda production to satisfy growing demand for Skyactiv vehciles. The Mexican plant's opening will be the return of Mazda manufacturing to North America, after Mazda6 production was moved back to Japan last year.
More good news for the company is that it projects 10 billion yen ($114 million) in net income for the financial year that will end in March. That would be a welcome turnaround from the 100-billion-yen loss in the previous financial year, part of a series of three annual losses in a four-year span.
