I am listing this car for my good friend. Impending hip and back surgery prevent him from enjoying this car fully. But, I sure had fun giving it a thorough inspection & road test! This is a beautifully maintained machine. It is fast, tight, and fun. It is super-clean underneath and rust-free by any sane definition. Everything works like it should; All controls, all lights, all features, and the A/C (if you would ever want that). I could find no evidence of any crash repair, and the VIN tags visible on the fenders match the VIN tag on the car and title. The top was recently replaced, and aside from some light abrasions on the rear window from folding (see pictures!), it looks clean and beautiful, and it is tight and leak-proof. Not a show car: There are a few small scratches and tiny dents, but it is an exceptionally pretty daily driver that you can drive and park anywhere great pride. 2015 Mazda2 spotted in Japanese magazine
Tue, 16 Jul 2013The styling changes at Mazda are proceeding at a fairly quick tempo. The CX-5 was unveiled, followed by a refreshed CX-9, the excellent Mazda6, and most recently a new Mazda3. This all happened over the course of less than two years, which in the auto industry is like a long week.
Now the Mazda2 is getting its revamp. Thanks to a magazine scan from Japan, we now have our first look at the new sub-compact, called the Demio, in its home market. Mazda's familial front end has been fitted, and it doesn't look quite as suited to the smaller car. Lacking the long-hood look of the Mazda3 and Mazda6, the new styling looks overly rounded, almost bulbous from our angle. It's still attractive, but the shape is kind of off-putting compared to the chiseled faces of the 2's big brothers. We'll concede that the folded magazine page may have something to do with it, however.
The next-generation 2 should adhere to Mazda's Skyactiv philosophy, which means we can expect a highly efficient four-cylinder engine, although it's impossible to say if Mazda will do away with its smallest offering's one-engine strategy. Considering the Mazda2 will be riding on a shortened version of the CX-5's platform, we'd expect some degree of mechanical parts sharing, regardless of how much the larger platform needs trimmed. Perhaps a detuned version of the 2.0-liter, Skyactiv four-cylinder could be under the 2's hood?

We are just days away from the official unveiling of the next-generation 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata on September 3, and it's fair to say that the mouths of enthusiasts are watering in anticipation for the latest version of this iconic roadster. Hard facts about the new droptop aren't easy to find, and in the absence of further disclosure from Mazda officials, the rumormill is in full swing, including word that a long-awaited hardtop coupe model will figure into the new generation's plans.
Mazda6 Skyactiv-D Racecar ready to bring diesel to Grand-Am
Tue, 15 Jan 2013It may not be quite as radical as some of the company's past rotary racers, but the new Mazda6 Skyactiv-D racecar does have a notable powertrain underhood: the automaker's brand-new clean diesel four-cylinder engine.
Three of these new diesel-powered Mazda6 racers will take to the track in the Grand-Am GX class of the upcoming 2013 Rolex 24 at Daytona on January 26, with five drivers on each team. The car you see above, number 70, is sponsored by Mazda's longtime motorsports partner, SpeedSource.
