1995 Miata M Edition With Mica Merlot Paint, Bbs Wheels, 31,800 Miles on 2040-cars

Hacker Valley, West Virginia, United States

I am reluctantly placing for sale my near pristine 1995 Miata M Edition with 5 speed manual transmission.  The car currently has 31,800 pampered miles.

Special Features: Leather Nardi shift knob, 15" BBS wheels, cut pile carpeting, stainless sill plates, air conditioning, CD player and 4 speakers, ABS, exterior badge,  M Edition floor mats, and the Popular Equipment Package (formerly called B package) included power steering, leather-wrapped steering wheel, power mirrors, alloy wheels, Torsen limited slip differential, cruise control, power windows, and power antenna.

I am the second owner of this vehicle. I purchased the car over three years ago from the estate of the original owner. She had maintained the car to a high standard and only drove it only on sunny weekends.  The car was never driven in rain or snow.  Since I have purchased it, I have only added a little over 2000 miles on sunny days.  This car drives great and is as solid as the day it was new.

Everything on the vehicle works like factory new. The exterior is very shiny and has been treated with the Five Star Shine protection, which provides exceptional protection to the surface. http://www.5starshine.com/.

There are a couple very minor places in the paint that have been touched up and treated.   There are only two other items that could be considered as flaws.  One is a slight yellowing and a line ( not really a crease ) in the original back plastic window.  And the original Tonneau cover has one snap that is torn loose.  I may have this repaired before the sale is complete.

The car is always garaged and covered with a form fitting Coverking cover ( $330 new )  that matches the car.  The car cover is included as well as the original soft top cover and the original factory M Edition tonneau cover.  The original M Edition floor mats are included and are in as new condition. An additional set of Miata factory mats are included that have been used in the car, but are in excellent shape.

The Interior is in nearly new condition, with only minor wear on the drivers seat. The original factory stereo with CD and cassette works perfectly.   The carpets are like new as is the dash and the M Edition  Stainless Sill Plates.

The original BBS wheels are in excellent condition with Kumho Ecsta AST tires 195/50 R15 with 80 to 90 % tread remaining.  The BBS cover caps are as new.  The trunk with spare tire, jack, and lug wrench is complete and is in nearly new condition.  The Marathon battery is 9 months old and is fitted with a quick disconnect switch to save the battery when the car is stored for longer periods.

The Merlot Mica color and the BBS wheels are very popular with M Edition enthusiasts.  This is the only NA Miata produced for the US market with special seats featuring an adjustable headrest.  The back of the seats also have the Miata script pressed into the leather.  The lower body sills are factory painted black.

This beautiful car is available for viewing at most any time by appointment. My hope is that another enthusiast will win the bid for this car and continue to enjoy it as I have.

2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata firsthand impressions and notebook scribblings

Thu, 04 Sep 2014

In a temporarily repurposed airport hanger in Monterey, CA, the world caught its first glimpse of the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata tonight, and I was fortunate enough to attend in person along with my fellow auto media colleagues, Mazda execs, a couple hundred Miata devotees and, oddly, a fair number of Duran Duran fans. The klieg lights have dimmed, Simon Le Bon is no longer ringing in my ears, and I'm left to ponder what I've seen. I've scavenged my notes - and my Twitter feed - to give you some details and brief thoughts.
Fair Warning: I can't claim to be completely impartial (I own a second-generation NB and consider the Miata franchise to be one of but a few sacrosanct franchises in modern motoring), but I will share my honest first impressions of the new car, both good and bad.
Here are my notes:

2014 Mazda3 Sedan

We're not going to beat around the bush: for the kind of person who willfully chooses to take longer, windier and more scenic routes to get to Point B, the 2014 Mazda3 is the new compact car measuring stick by which others will be judged. That doesn't, of course, make it the right choice for every buyer.
We'll spend the next thousand words or so explaining the whys and hows that make our opening statement a fact, but for now, suffice it to say that Mazda has engineered its latest crop of vehicles - namely the CX-5, Mazda6 and its smaller sibling and subject of this test, the Mazda3 - from the ground up. Absolutely everything about the Mazda3 is refined for 2014, from its chassis to its engines and everything in between, and it was done in a completely new and holistic way. Every component, subcomponent and stamping required to bolt and weld together an automobile was rethought to ensure the Mazda3 has what it takes to compete with such established benchmarks as the Honda Civic and Ford Focus.

Mazda poaches designer Kevin Rice back from BMW

Wed, 30 Oct 2013

Kevin Rice left Mazda a baker's dozen years ago, but now he's back.
A graduate of the Transportation Design program at Coventry University (just across town from Jaguar headquarters), Rice worked his way up in the industry working for the likes of Opel and Italdesign Giugiaro before landing a job at Mazda. Between 1995 and 2000, he collaborated on such projects as the RX-8 and the 1999 Neospace concept that previewed the Mazda2 before moving on to BMW, where the new 3 Series and 4 Series were among the last projects he worked on during his 13-year tenure in Munich.
Now back at Mazda, Rice has been named the Japanese automaker's new creative director, charged with further honing the brand's KODO design language from its European headquarters in Oberursel, Germany. We're looking forward to seeing what he and his design team come up with in the coming years.
