This is an amazing car and a pleasure to drive. It has amazing power! Just getting a little impractical with 3 kids. Time to get rid of the toy.
Vehicle condition: Good. Interior is in great shape with minimal to no wear. Has been fully detailed top to bottom and is in great shape. Exterior is in good condition as well. There are some scuffs and light scratches but nothing to visible/noticeable. When standing close you can see some but from a short distance away would be invisible. Most likely could be buffed out. Distinguishing features: Manual transmission, after market racing exhaust that sounds great, after market air filter. Brand new winter tires (one season only) and the summer tires are going on this week. Never smoked in the vehicle. A/C, am/fm stereo, 6-disc cd changer, BOSE Speaker system, iPod hookup. History of ownership: Bought from the dealership that was a trade from the original owner. Alert: There are no known defects/problems with the vehicle except the following: - The coolant light illuminates. It has done this since I bought it in 2008. I have had it checked by the dealership and they said that it was a known issue with the vehicle. There is some kind of sensor on the coolant tank that would need to be replaced which is inexpensive. However, removing this sensor almost always results in the connector snapping which would result in a whole new tank being installed. I opted out of fixing it for that reason. It has never overheated on me. Note: Mileage that is listed above is MILES. There are 133,000km on this vehicle. |

2014 Mazda6: July/August 2013
Thu, 05 Sep 2013Our newest long-termer - the Soul Red 2014 Mazda6 seen here - arrived in my driveway at the end of June. Without hesitation, I immediately put it to work as a daily driver, carpool bus and family vacation sled, and it accomplished all of those tasks with aplomb. Now, more than 4,000 miles down the road, I am left convinced that Mazda's latest midsize sedan is one of the best in its segment.
During the past 60 days, I have subjected the Mazda6 to scorching travel across Southwestern deserts, wheezing climbs over 8,000-foot-high Sierra Nevada mountain passes and basking in the cool ocean breezes of Malibu. It traveled with four passengers and a full load of luggage from Los Angeles to Lake Tahoe, and it braved the bumper-to-bumper freeway congestion on a weekday trip down to San Diego. It accomplished everything that was asked of while hardly skipping a beat - it has only required a regular sip of unleaded fuel to keep it moving forward.

Attending the reveal of the 2016 MX-5 Miata and the subsequent 25th anniversary celebration at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca confirmed that the little roadster maintains broad appeal, one not limited to the elderly or a certain gender as detractors might have you believe. In fact, the assembled crowd was surprisingly youthful, particularly amongst the club racer set and tuners. But one young Miata owner and superfan unfortunately wasn't in attendance - Thomas Jost, 19, was busy fighting for his life in a Maryland hospital.
First 2014 Mazda3 ad appears
Sat, 29 Jun 2013If we judge by your comments on our recent announcement post about the new Mazad3, you Autoblog readers approve, pretty wholeheartedly, about the redesign efforts happening over at Mazda. Pressed for an opinion, we'd be forced to admit that we find the new 3 quite fetching our own selves.
To add fuel to the fast-burning fire then, Mazda has gone ahead and dropped a 15-second pseudo commercial on YouTube, showing a very rendered Mazda3 in a very rendered driving environment. The short spot is really just slightly more dynamic than the images of the car, but there is a spot of mystery to it, as well.
Right at the start of the video, an interior shot of the car shows a transparent display screen of some kind, rising from the top of the 3's dash. An interesting choice, considering Mazda has bestowed an actual center-mounted display in on the hatchback's dash-top - albeit one that doesn't look like a clear piece of glass.
