Up for sale is a 2005 Mazda RX-8 in excellent condition. The car has the Sport Package and features a 6-speed short throw manual transmission, traction control, limited slip differential, fog lights and xenon headlights.  No engine or exhaust modifications of any kind.  Black exterior and black cloth interior - no rips or stains of any kind.

I bought this brand new off the lot and have only put 42,000 miles on it. Car has been garaged since day one and received regular oil changes.  In 2009 I upgraded to the RX-8 "R3-Edition" 19 inch rims which I think are about the best looking wheels out there.  Just had oil change and car needs nothing.  The car has newer Continental DWS all-season, Z-speed rated tires that still have 20,000+ miles on their tread-life warranty.  I did my homework and those are the best all season tires out there for a rear wheel drive sports car.  Car shows few very minor signs of road wear, but I am confident you will not find a cleaner 2005 RX-8.

So why am I selling? Simple, baby #3 is almost here.  This is one of the coolest 4-door cars out there, and for the past seven years it has served well when my family of four wanted to go somewhere in style.  The suicide-opening back doors really work great for the little ones, and sure beat the heck out of folding seats down in a traditional coupe.  Baby #3 just won't have a place to sit, so to make room for the new baby I have to sell this one. My Buy It Now is set at the current Kelly Blue Book for "Excellent" condition - which this car certainly is.  Check my long term 100% positive feedback rating and bid with confidence.

I can be reached with any questions at 317-three four five-4O15.

Next Mazdaspeed3 could look this good

Fri, 28 Jun 2013

Mazda showed off its brand-new 2014 Mazda3 at an event in New York City earlier this week, and we have to say, at first blush, we're pretty impressed. It looks fantastic - like a smaller, hatch'd version of the already sleek Mazda6 sedan that went on sale earlier this year. And with a 200-pound weight reduction, efficient Skyactiv gasoline engines underhood and Mazda's usual focus on driving dynamics above all, we're willing to bet that the new Three will be a pretty decent steer.
Of course, being enthusiasts, we're already setting our sights on the next-generation Mazdaspeed3, rendered here by artist Theo Chin. To our eyes, it's not a very imaginative transformation, but is likely a spot-on rendering for what the next car will look like. And it's really, really hot.
While Mazda hasn't exactly confirmed that the new Speed3 will be coming, sources within the automaker have indicated that a third-generation version of the MS3 is under development. Thing is, the Japanese automaker wants to give the standard Mazda3 some time to grow in the market, so we might not see the new Speed3 until something like 2016, with a possible diesel version to arrive before then.

Scion FR-S pitted against oldtimers RX-8 and S2000

Tue, 07 May 2013

There are very few vehicles available today that compare directly with the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ twins. A case could be made for the Mazda MX-5 Miata, and possibly even six-cylinder versions of American coupes like the Ford Mustang. Pretty much everything else is either too expensive or is powered by the wrong set of wheels.
The boys from EverydayDriver on YouTube decided the only fair way to judge the inherent qualities of the Toyobaru twins was to pit them against two standard-bearers of years past: The Honda S2000 and Mazda RX-8. Neither of these cars is an exact matchup, with the Honda boasting a convertible top and the RX-8 offering more practicality via a rear seat and two reverse-opening doors for easier access. What they do offer, however, are similar performance stats and proven reputations for excellent handling.
None of this talk answers the real question, though: Which one wins the comparison test? Scroll down to watch the video, and be prepared for something of a surprise conclusion.

Ever wonder how to really pronounce Japanese automaker names?

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

People tend to get very set in their ways when it comes to the pronunciation of words. Just look at the endless debates over whether or not to say the final 'e' in Porsche (which you should in terms of correct German enunciation). Or the argument about whether to follow the British convention and give the 'u' in Jaguar a special delivery or to say the 'ua' diphthong as more of a 'w' sound, as usually happens in the US.
This short video doesn't answer either of those automotive questions, but it does allow a native Japanese speaker to demonstrate the accepted pronunciations for several, major automakers from the country. One benefit is that it clears up the occasional debate over whether Nissan should be said with a long or short 'i' sound. Also, listen closely to how the female host says Mazda as Matsuda, the way it's actually said in the language. Even if this doesn't change the way you enunciate these brands, at least now you know the accurate way in Japanese.
